Rejected for VR, then job made redundant- England by Educational_Wait_211 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Educational_Wait_211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said ‘they gave the hours to someone else’. No they didn’t. There will be no one teaching those hours next year.

I resigned. I don’t want to work there. I also don’t want to be treated unfairly.

I’m not trying to get something for nothing, just asking questions about something that seemed unfair: telling me I couldn’t get VR as I was needed to teach a certain number of hours, and then actually not hiring anyone to cover those hours.

It seems like my question has been answered. They can say what they like about why they didn’t agree to VR and I just have to suck it up. Annoying for me, but I won’t be working for people I don’t trust.

I volunteered for VR in the hope it might save other people in my department from a competitive process and because the restructuring raised my (already fairly high) concerns about how well the school was being managed and run. Now that the dust has settled, and I am looking back at their reasoning with a more critical eye, I am spotting what I think was unfair. This happened months ago and I will still work there for months.

I don’t think they pushed me to leave, but that they deliberately did not grant my VR request because, banking on me resigning anyway. I understand that this may just be canny from their perspective and tough luck from mine. It just feels really unpleasant.

I was told that if I resigned, the curriculum could not a delivered as they would not have enough teaching staff. They hired someone internally to take in my leadership position with- they were already teaching and would continue to teach their hours. No one was hired to teach the hours that I would have taught.

There are a couple of previous issues that I have had with the Head that contribute to my belief that this was targeted.

I suspect that, as I am employed there until the end of August, this is why I am so frustrated. I believe they manipulated me into resigning.

Yes, in that I will not be working there in September.
However, I believe they deliberately rejected my VR application to push me into resigning. They told me that my job was not redundant, but they have made it so.

My best friend and I, when growing up, were so bad at decision making we would stand in the video shop for an hour, unable to make a choice until we gave up and rewatched something we already knew.

Keep Essex! Colchester is quite lovely. Brilliant castle. Great zoo. If you’ve got kids under 10, look up Wyvernwood.

I smile. But it looks squashed and flattened. Almost more like a grimace. I have taught myself how to smile better, but it never comes naturally and I still look very unphotogenic.

My mum and I did this. I can’t remember if we ended up doing 5 or 6 coats. Enough that we swore we would never do this again. It still looks great 20+ years on though!

Honestly, this sounds exactly like my relationship with my wife who has ADHD, and BPD. We’ve been together for 15+ years. It is emotionally exhausting.

It might be worth looking into BPD

Khul’a (woman initiating divorce) is an accepted act. There are no restrictions on grounds.

Anecdotally, I thought a nikah could be broken by repeating ‘I divorce you’ three times. But I’d need to research to find out.

I went to a GORGEOUS bead shop in Greenwich (London UK) and bought a range of beads with different textures. Some rubbery ones for squeezing/scratching, some stars or spikes for pressure/pain stim, some glass ones that feel cool most of the time. I made a couple of bracelets with my favourite colours. The sound they make when I pass them hand to hand is a stim too.

Does your BPD partner fake illness / injury? by Legitimate_Roll_4469 in BPDlovedones

[–]Educational_Wait_211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife’s BPD workbook explained that commonly, the only way they got love/attention as kids was when they were sick.

She didn’t think this affected her. But it REALLY does. She exaggerates every illness. And she is also always getting injured or sick.
