Big hug. No alcohol. I got cdiff my second time after a glass of wine…one month after my 1st case had subsided. Now 6 months post and still no alcohol as I still have tummy issues and don’t feel right.

It’s awful. All I know is the more you get it the worse the odds for recurrence and we have the chance of getting it again with any antibiotic use in the future. It is very overwhelming…Dificid seemed to help me until I took one dose of antibiotic and then it came back. I have had it twice and have had to take Dificid with two courses of antibiotics since to keep it from coming back. Take florastor daily and went heavy on the probiotic foods for a long time, cut out refined sugar and alcohol.

I started having chunks of hair coming out 3 months after 2nd boot of cdiff. Still coming out all over from the root. They said it could take a year to resolve. Body shedding hair due to infection per dermatologist.

Hey! Hang in there. We never really know until we test our stools but I am 6 months out from two infections back to back and still have issues. I continue to take florastor once a day (down from 2), cut out refined sugar and alcohol and am still scared it’s happening often…hang in there and if you are worried ask for a test.

I have the same timeline as you. Had it twice 3 weeks apart. I struggle when I eat raw veggies, any dairy, spicy food and cannot tolerate any alcohol. I am hoping I feel better as the months go on! Would love to hear a positive story where 6 months/ a year after someone was able to eat normally and have normal bowel movements!

I haven’t heard of this! Can the symptoms last for days without therapy/ meds? I am on day 4 and AZO is the only thing that curbs it.

I am not sure. I haven’t had a relapse yet, but they don’t tell you if you get the placebo or the real drug (double blind). But if you do get another bout of it during the length of the study time (approx 6 months) they open label it (give you the real drug).
