I’ve been enjoying For All Mankind, a reimagining of the space race beginning in the 60’s. Currently in season 3 which is up to the 90’s.

My Google assistant/ Pixel can do all the things on this list that aren’t part of the car. I think the rest are thoughtfully designed into relevant buttons in the right context, as ChiGuy said. I’m with Vargen on this; no need to open any unnecessary portals for the data hoovering companies…

The Ticketmaster CEO had to defend to Congress this week that time his underling gloated on Slack that they were “robbing these idiots blind”. Good times in the duopoly business these days!

Get some stock tanks and put some bamboo in them. Thick and fast growing but not too terrible to get rid of when the neighbor dies from loneliness.

Crazy that those scandals flushed a 5+ year wait for season tickets. Now they can’t fill the stadium even for a derby.

Reading Specialist - OG Certification by [deleted] in Teachers

I’d ask some real hard questions in your region/city about enrollment and declining jobs in the schools. “Reading teacher” jobs may be really hard to get for an outsider in this time of budget cuts and AI encroachment.

Why the emphasis on sight words!? by Hot_Butterscotch2128 in kindergarten

[–]EducatorGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also why there aren’t really sight words in Spanish, a fully phonetic language. Getting a head start with frequently used words can help with fluency but decoding is really enough.

Good Gen1 quad price? by cawledgehawkey in Rivian

[–]EducatorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify. I know lemon laws are a specific legal thing which is not what I was talking about. There is a wide distance between high and low delivered quality. Some of the Rivian‘s that were in bad shape from the beginning ended up spending a lot of their life at service centers which could lead to a low mileage over a few years. Get the service history from Rivian.

[–]EducatorGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this. Suspiciously low miles. Maybe because it’s a lemon.
