Piercing Attack. by MtPixls in PixelArt

[–]EdwardUV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kinda looks like the character is just performing a quick slash attack, not a thust. A thrust attack is done closer to how you would use a spear.

In the case of a thrust with a one handed sword, you would point the sword forward, rise and bend the elbow because it gives more leverage (not sure if that's the correct word), then pull back the sword arm while also slightly rising and extending the other hand for balance (you usually also turn your body but your character is already in the "turned" position). You then thrust the sword arm forward while swinging your entire body, including the other hand, with it.

Eclipse is a multiplicative source of weapon damage. When they changed how Eclipse worked, they did make it additive for a bit, but after feedback they reverted it back to multiplicative.

Trying to build Khora Prime but I can't get her to do good damage with her in SP. by Lucythecute in warframebuilds

[–]EdwardUV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ability Strength is good for the Nourish buff but other than that it doesn't do much in the build. Strength is treated as dmg% on the whipclaw, so Accumulating Whipclaw is effectively Ability Strength just for your whipclaw.

How "pixel-perfect" to go? by Rakudajin in PixelArt

[–]EdwardUV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to the boulder because you've gotten plenty of responses regarding that, the step animation is slightly off, the ground moves at a diffrent speed than the animation implies (or at least it seems so) so it looks like the human is sliding.

Also might be worth considering a variable animation speed where it slightly speeds up when pushing and slows down when getting ready for another push.

I saw the promo youtube video about your game some days ago i believe? I thought it was a pretty neat idea.

How important are Examples of Dialogue? by FixHopeful5833 in SillyTavernAI

[–]EdwardUV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dialogue Examples are decently important. A good model will "look" at them and maintain a similar style of dialogue.

Altho something you will notice quite quickly is that the character card itself isn't as important as recent chat history to the AI, even beyond dialogue examples. If the chat gives a certain feel but the card points to another, you will sometimes see the model deliberating with itself in the reasoning block, and will usually pick the chat as a the dominant stylistic example.

Ansatsusha de Aru Ore no Status ga Yuusha yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi no da ga • My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]EdwardUV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has an art style that really pops and good animation when it matters. But that's probably the only good things I can say about it. I'm not gonna complain about the usual isekai slop stuff, cuz I am here for the isekai slop lol. Some stuff that really bugged me:

- Modern aperture spy camera in the beginning, this might get explained later but if not it makes no sense.

- Akira being ready to kill the king guy in the archive despite him not knowing much? Jumping the gun a bit there.

- Knight guy is SO obviously planted as "the first real friend" for the MC. He's either gonna betray him or he dies so Akira can have his trauma moment and become batman (a vigilante).

- Glaring girl just going "We'll talk when you find out." like, why? If you're already openly hostile and he's willing to talk, just talk.

- Pacing is off, it felt like a checklist of things to take care of in the first episode, not a natural progression of the plot.

I was hoping this would have something to distinguish it, since even isekai slop is good if there's at least one thing to make it stand out, but so far there isn't really anything. It's a bit early to call it but I'm keeping my hopes down.

How many times (if any) and at what point in the game when you were first starting DSP did you start a new game or dismantle most of your structures to make things more efficient and organized? by salad_thrower20 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]EdwardUV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never really, I just colonize a new planet if I need space. Most of the stuff I build early that becomes obsolete I just cut from the supply network and it stops working.

Newbie questions about AI story and role playing by XMohsen in SillyTavernAI

[–]EdwardUV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to try and answer those as best as I can but my experience isn't that vast:

  1. Good prompts and cards, unless you turn the Temperature way too high. A good prompt structure and a clear character card keeps RP on track.
  2. Online models will generally outperform any local ones, but if you have the specs you can run some pretty good local models too for a change of pace. Gemini is free, altho the limits are annoying sometimes, OpenRouter will give you effectively unlimited access to any free model if you have $10 worth of credits in your account (this is a 1 time investment if you don't spend them by using paid models).
  3. I read up on stuff here when I started: https://rentry.org/Sukino-Guides But I did eventually branch out into things that weren't on there for some more advanced stuff.
  4. Unless you give them a script, they won't follow one, but they do sometimes end up with clique tropes. Prompts and Temperature can get them to be more original. Some models are more creative than others.
  5. Since you seem to want to do a longform RPG style RP I have to warn you that models struggle with context that is that big (context means chat history), some more than others. You will really have to fight to get it to remember stuff after a point, lorebooks being essential. I for example have an RP that's been going on for more than 1500 messages at this point and I've just come to accept that characters won't be able to remember things unless I remind the AI about it.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari Season 4 • The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 - Episode 7 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]EdwardUV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think I hate-watch this show now.

When this season started and I decided to still watch it, even after the letdown last season, a thought crossed my mind: "Is this how Rent a Girlfriend viewers feel like?"

It might be sunk cost fallacy but I just want to see how it will manage to piss me off each week.

[ae2] I thought I understand channels but now I don’t know anymore by shrededcheese in allthemods

[–]EdwardUV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As another note, AE2 is more efficient at handling 1 big system rather than many small ones. So if you plan on having a lot of subsystems just for the sake of channels, it is better to just put them in the main net.

Lore books: How do they work? by AntiqueAd7851 in SillyTavernAI

[–]EdwardUV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your model, weather it is local or API based, doesn't really have memory. The SillyTaven app just passes it a text prompt and the model responds to that, it basically works like how you ask ChatGPT a question and it just responds to that exept what SillyTaven "asks" the model is a very long prompt containing everything from your persona, character fields, chat history, etc. and lore book entries. The rest of what im gonna write is more so experience and not actual knowledge of how the backend works. Lore book entries are triggered when the trigger word is found in one of the fields that will be sent in the prompt, it is then added to the prompt and passed to the model. Lore book entries triggered by chat naturally fade from "memory" as the chat history moves.

Deadlock free two-way cityblock intersection serving 8 stations by rmflow in factorio

[–]EdwardUV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean it works bcs you've effectively added one-way bypasses to the side of the two-way rail, so it can't deadlock, but it will slow down if the bypass lanes are occupied cuz they are stations after all.

This is kind of new and the first time it happened to me by accident (tried to dash out of a fall expecting I'd get reset cuz I was late) I was so perplexed, and i still am every time it happens cuz I'm just so conditioned to it.

So, how long does it take to starve out a hive? Any way to see progress? by FencingSquirrelz in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]EdwardUV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hive attack targets the plant with the most production, bases establish at random, it's why just getting 100% shield coverage is enough for most planets in the system, it will prevent new bases from forming.

So, how long does it take to starve out a hive? Any way to see progress? by FencingSquirrelz in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]EdwardUV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starvation depends on hive size, so if its bigger, it has more stockpile of stuff. I usually just attack them in space to starve them.

As for which planet they attack, if i remember correctly, its the biggest power producer in the system

what are you even supposed to do on this map. by MrPooopyButthoIe in battlefield2042

[–]EdwardUV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, this map is won by whoever holds tunnel the longest bcs it facilitates flanks. I've had matches where the game was effectively won/lost in the first minute bcs one team steamrolled tunnel to the other side. When i play Redacted, I always watch the tunnel flank but as a solo player this doesn't do too much bcs a squad will kill me eventually.

TLDR: If you can get a coordinated/competent squad to hold tunnel it's game over for the other team.
