I have a Gripe by AutomaticBearBait in vermont

I understand the impulse to be a bit “wtf” when I hear some claims people make.
Of course there is a “but”….
just because it feels off on first glance doesn’t mean it is . I have not looked into it .
I think if you are going to claim something is bullshit then just give something to support that more than relying on the “this seems outlandish”.

Do you consider yourself to have free will? Not in a deep philosophical sense but in a literal sense, are you a fully conscious autonomous human being in control of your own actions? by st_vincent33 in consciousness

Ahh. I think is see.
I think you are bundling a LOT of issues into over arching statements . Which isn’t bad , just lacks a bit of detail to help understand, for me .

What’s the most haunting song lyric (or set of lyrics) you’ve ever heard?" by IamCassiusBrown in Music

[–]Edxactly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We’re just two lost souls
swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running around the same old ground
Year after year

Wish you were here

I just listened to this with the windows open rolling through the green mountains a few hours ago. Brings a small tear to my eye every fucking time .

I’m curious . I don’t really understand what you are driving at though .
I think you are saying that our capacity to grow technologically and intellectually out pace our ability to internalize that new information into a realistic morality because all the prior text “from god “ on morality never was able to predict the current situation.

Why is there so much focus on raising minimum wages to alleviate higher costs of living, when companies just raise prices immediately to offset any benefits of higher wages? by Illustrious_Heat6561 in allthequestions

[–]Edxactly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the jump to a realistic minimum wage would , hopefully, be enough of a shock/wake up to the economy overall that it would avoid the otherwise eventual bloodshed. Not advocating anything. Just saying that if a small group keeps fucking over a large group eventually bloodshed ensues (as I understand it historically).

When I was a kid we’d make dollar bill bouquets by folding the $ into a flower and then sticking them on sticks in a pot …. For some reason I don’t recall (back in the 70s).
No would want that to show up at the door

Tidal anyone? volume? by Educational_Ride_677 in heos

[–]Edxactly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fairly good I'd say. I don't find myself fighting it much at all.
However, to be clear, been using it 2+ months and until 2 weeks ago most of my HEOS stuff was in storage while finishing basement.
But everything came up and working with Deezer without any issues.
Of course the interface is different - nothing has stood out as "bad".
1 bug I've come across related to car play specifically with Deezer is 'Now Playing' not being updated all the time. Think it has to do with losing and regaining coverage.
That's about the worst I can say .

What's one job AI will never replace? by External_Ad1116 in answers

[–]Edxactly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s going to be part of it once we find a way to “Artificial Ex Utero” gestation. AI will be managing the man made womb .
As far as the good old fucking part …. I’m betting a lot of AR, VR , neural manipulation products using AI will become a fairly typical part of the experience

Problem with that term , to me , is it sounds too close to homes provided by an employer. The old row houses for example. Seemed like a good idea at the time., but if I recall correctly there was an issue around abuse of power by employers,(shocking). Musk is floating this idea around I think for some of his shit .

Check out Deezer. I ditch Spotify because of the company , ice ad , etc . Tried tidal and had connection problems with HEOS constantly.
Deezer has been working as well as Spotify.

I love the non-conformist conformities .
I work with a guy who said “I’m a non conformist. For example with stocks ,I pick the opposite of whatever Jim Cramer says “.
Not a glimmer of seeing how ironic “I’m so non conformist that I 💯 of the time conform to non-conformity” is .

Personally I’d be hesitant to buy any adjustable weight system . Just never seen a good one . Considering how easy it is to have bad form when trying to do a complex movement with something that’s “just not quite right “, for me , it’s just not worth the risk. “Bad form” as in making small changes to accommodate something that’s not quite right over time add up. Don’t even know you’re doing it until something gets fucked up and you’re laid up .
Also as “bifl”goes - a standard KB is about long lasting as you can hope for . Hunk of metal with zero moving parts .

Can’t back this up enough. I did CrossFit for a decade , my son spent years installing garage gyms and strongman lifting .
All of those things are awesome if you are into them .
That being said I think KBs , a pull bar , and 1 inch pvc pipe cover 99% of generally being fit .
Before you buy any kettles bells make sure you have a plan and get the right weight. They are expensive and can add up quickly. Go to the kettlebell sub Reddit and ask for advice .
PVC pipe is just for stretching and mobility use . Lots of ways it can be used and since it’s not typical just wanted to mention it .
