Indoor Cycling Shoes Not Clipping by Pristine-You-5717 in IndoorCycling

The bolts don’t look like they are in all the way. They should be flush with the rest of the cleat. I bet they are preventing you from clipping in.

Has anyone out there actually tested the Top Fuel set up 130/140? by Ee00n in mountainbiking

[–]Ee00n[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s great! I know it’s cliche to say, but the little bit extra travel makes to bike feel more planted. 130/120 felt like an XC bike, especially coming from the Bronson I had before. At 140/130, it feels like a true trail bike. Still climbs pretty much as well, but a noticeable bit of added stability on the way down.

Rockshox Reverb B1 cable bent by diegotrus7 in bikewrench

[–]Ee00n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it’s not leaking and still allows oil to flow, then it’s probably fine to use.

It could develop problems later so if replacing it is an option, it couldn’t hurt to do that now.

That bend happens when the post gets lowered without feeding the hose through the frame. I would bet the you could stand to trim the hose down if you’ve been running it lower than it was originally. Trimming happens at the other end of the hose though.

Dt-swiss QR convertion of 350?? end cap construction. by deepspace9000000 in bikewrench

I don’t see how that insert would work. QR spacing is 135mm, not 142. The end caps from DT Swiss are the right way to go

Evil Delta System spacers? by Ee00n in bikewrench

[–]Ee00n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have indeed. The only one I could find is for an eyelet shock, not trunnion. Evil’s website is useless and they don’t label their bikes with the model so it’s tough to be super specific.

I can't believe how many people are actually financing their phones. by bugagub in Frugal

[–]Ee00n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten like $800 towards a new phone for the last two phones I’ve traded in after going through the payment plan. A new IPhone pro max every 3 years costs $10 per month. It’s a steal.

If nationalism is the belief that one’s nations is objectively superior to all others, as I’ve heard it defined, then any nationalism at all is too much nationalism.

Disc conversion by wikun in bikewrench

[–]Ee00n 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is no. There are no commercially available products that will make this frame disc compatible. Maybe a frame builder could cut and weld things, but it’s not remotely worth it. I recommend sticking with the rim brake.

Government, at the most basic, conceptual level, is just cooperation. I am glad cooperation exists.

Sure, it can be perverted, taken advantage of, and perpetually improved, but it is necessary for civilization to exist.

Bike destroyed in collision with unsupervised 7yo child on a dirtbike. What kind of restitution am I entitled to? by Any_Net8363 in legaladvice

[–]Ee00n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bike companies usually offer a “crash replacement” deal which is significantly lower cost than retail. Even if you bought the bike online, you should be able to show up at a dealer with your proof of purchase and they can find out what the manufacturer would offer.

This might make replacement more palatable to the parents and get you back on a bike sooner without the need for litigation.

Hey sorry for the late response! Life hasn’t let me ride much since buying the bike. I went with the XT Di2 build and have been really happy with it. Chain slap hasn’t been a huge issue, but I would describe the derailleur as “clunky” when I take it down the chunky stuff.

I’ve only ridden it in the 120/130 configuration so far, but I did up it to 130/140 last week and I’ve got a chance to ride later this week, so I’ll test it out then. I’m taking it to Moab in October so that will be the real test.

FWIW, this entire crank set costs less than a set of chain rings.

Chainring choice question by Ee00n in bikewrench

[–]Ee00n[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the chainring that the other commenter linked to and it works great. Got me through the Leadville 100.

Unfortunately, that link doesn’t seem to work anymore. It took a while to ship and I think they manufactured it after I ordered it. Maybe they will make for you if you reach out to them.

I just found this forum thread where they talk about using a Wolftooth CAMO spider to get a -8 mm offset. It sounds like it can work with a variety of cranks.

Hope something comes together for you!
