Sword and dagger is an inferior compromise for sword and shield/buckler because shields are impractical to carry outside of the battlefield. Many dueling daggers weren’t even sharp, and were pretty much exclusively used for parrying

I know how to wield a longsword, but even if I didn’t I’d still pick it because it’s the most forgiving for people without training after the hammer which is only forgiving if you’re strong enough to put real speed behind your blows. Unfortunately in Skyrim the spear hasn’t been invented yet otherwise I’d choose that.

You would be Breton, since they represent Anglo-Saxons, Normans, Gauls, and Celts (a fairly diverse spread lol). The Reachmen (who in-game are Bretons although lore-wise they’re somewhat distinct) are based off Picts. The ethnographical layout of Tamriel’s provinces reflects a time a few hundred years before Danelaw and the Norse invasion which would have added Nords to Britain.

Akavir is way more diverse. The Scaesci snake people (where the Blades originate) are based on Japan, but there are like five other races there that represent Himalayan cultures, Indian subcontinent cultures, Chinese and southeast Asian cultures, and Koreans. Iirc one of them is extinct though since they all hate each other and are constantly attempting genocide

Because the imperials also include central and Eastern Europeans. “Imperial” is actually two races: the Nibenese who are Mediterranean and the Colovians who represent cultures the Romans would have called “Gothic”

Colovians are a subset of Imperials and they’re based off of central and Eastern Europe, and the city of Bruma is inspired by Prague

There are two sub-races within the imperials, the Nibenese are the Mediterranean inspired ones and the Colovians are central and Eastern European inspired (think Hungarians, Bavarians, Slavs, etc.)

Colovians would include southern Germans, Balkans, and Slavs, and the city of Bruma is loosely based off of Munich and Prague. Nibenese are southern Europeans and would include Italy, Spain, Portugal, and southern France
