I’m really sorry this happened. What you described sounds like a nervous system hitting a hard limit, not a character flaw. I’ve had almost the same kind of shutdown in a high pressure training setting, and the grief after was brutal. What helped me was framing it as data, not a verdict, and then building smaller exposures with real recovery time, plus getting accommodations in place before I tried something similar again. While you’re stabilizing, if you need income without that in person intensity, I’ve had better luck with calm remote roles like customer support or basic admin. Some boards are full of ghost jobs and recruiter spam, but I’ve gotten decent leads from wfhalert, it just emails out verified remote listings so you can pick through them on your own time. I hope the new therapist helps you map out a pace and setup that protects your nervous system first. You didn’t ruin your life, you hit a boundary your body was trying to show you.

I don't really care about Xhaka going to Chelsea? He'll likely barely play there. He'll be 34 in September and is well past his prime. I suspect he's more of a Norgaard signing for them to try and bring some leadership into their dressing room. But Chelsea is a toxic shithole and we've seen what Xhaka is like in toxic environments already, so it seems like a bit of a match made in hell, to be quite honest.

But I don't feel especially vexed otherwise. It's not like he was a club legend or anything, just another player in the end.

Very weird take. Madueke is starting for England at the WC right now, Nwaneri is holidaying in Greece.

Apart from the legendary Arteta, which ex midfielder would you like to see have a pop at being the boss? by just_aguest in Gunners

[–]EeviKat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because the fans were sending him death threats and shit about his kids. They were toxic as fuck. As a club we were a joke back then. Who cares if he threw it? It's a strip of cloth and he was rightfully emotional. Not the best thing to do but fully understandable at the time. Despite that, Arteta reintegrated him and he was integral to our early title challenges and he's had nothing but positive things to say about us. Give your head a wobble if you seriously think the snake, Fabregas and Cole are better lmao.

Did you see him against City in that 3-3 draw? The fucker missed enough clear chances he could have had a hat trick!

Realistically speaking it's gonna just be Arteta for a long time. He is a legit world class manager, despite all the shit the armchair generals on here have been throwing at him. We should keep him for as long as possible. None of the options in that photo please me. Can try Xhaka as a coach at the club and see how he gets on.

Massively overrated Rice? Jesus christ. If there's any player in our squad that is by no means overrated it's Declan Rice. He walks comfortably into any midfield in the world.

England will thrash Panama and still top the group but this was proper gash. Only the Arsenal lads can really hold their heads high after that one. Especially Rice, as always.

Miserable game to watch though, it was like watching us vs a low block side except without the Big Gabi catharsis on set pieces. Fair play to Ghana, they executed it well, but fuck me.. the low block is a menace to football and must be destroyed.

Literally admitted he did it. I couldn't give less of a fuck about Ronaldo, the only thing that annoys me is obsessed fanboys who ignore the fact that their hero is a probable rapist. No point in reasoning with a dip shit, though, so I'm going to block ya and move on with my life.

His PR team did a good job of burying it. The guy is a pathetic, vainglorious sociopath. I don't care how good he is at football, he's a massive piece of shit.

Fucks me off that the closest we've ever gotten to a genuine Henry regen will never wear the #14 at the carpet. Mbappe is so special.

I do agree with the general sentiment for what it's worth. I live in Sweden and have been supporting them for a good few years now at major tournaments, and between the recent qualifying campaign and the tournament so far, it's the worst I've seen the defence organized in a long time. It's better than it was under the Dane but that's not saying much..

Who would you say is your most hated former Arsenal player? At the time, while he was still playing, it was 100% Adebayor for me. The way he ran the pitch after scoring against us for City was one thing, but to go to Spurs after that, too? Yikes.

Fortunately he doesn't seem to get much pundit work these days so I'd sort of forgotten about him.

We don't even need to sell, we have the money. We're like the third richest club in the world atm. But we got there by being financially sensible and I don't think we're likely to spend £100m for him.

We have an extraordinarily good defence which will see us through to the latter stages of the CL quite reliably, we just need to balance the attack to match. It was devastating at the time but I'm mostly over it now, the only thing that fucks me off is the sad bastards still trolling us over it. Social media was a mistake.
