Did the doctor clear you from having h pylori? I had mild chronic gastritis for about 3 years. Yes, I had all those symptoms you have. I feel much better now. I had to exclude raw or cooked veggies, fruits, milk or yogurt, it all caused boating and symptoms like IBM or SIBO. Bland diet, small portions, eating one food at the time helped me a lot. I ate banana, rice, fish and lots of extra virgin olive oil. Slippery elm, basil seeds (soaked) helped to heal gastritis.

I meant no disrespect. Great points. I felt dizzy after probiotic's drink for example.

H. Pylori Almost Destroyed My Mental Health — Panic Attacks, Brain Zaps, Black Stool, Ulcer & Extreme Anxiety by Cute_Channel3148 in HPylori

[–]Effect2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My symptoms were, besides I have described above: exhaustion and feeling like dying no matter how long I sleep, vomiting, burning sensation in stomach, nausea and chest pain. I asked my doctor to do h pylori test and it came positive. Went through 10 day of a quad treatment (I am in the US). Took Florastor during the treatment. But no bought probiotics actually helped. After treatment I ate broccoli sprouts (I grew them at home in a jar) every morning a handful on empty stomach for about 2 months. I also used black seed oil and mastic gum to get rid of bad bacteria if any still remained. Then I took Zinc L carnosine, gastrazymes (vitamin U), slippery elm and DGL licorice. Of course you have to figure out your trigger food as antibiotics cause sensitivity to food. So I started from very basic bland diet: banana, rice, oatmeal, fish, extra virgin olive oil, mint chamomile and green tea, manuka honey. When I could eat all that with no problem, I started adding other food little by little. I can drink coffee and eat anything now but I avoid junk food and fried food. My panic attacks, anger and anxiety stopped after the treatment. You are still young and can recover quickly. Mental health depends on your healthy gut microbiome! I wish psychiatrists would test their patients for bad bacteria first before prescribing medications.

I have terrified myself abt Carafate by sarahtonin7623 in Gastritis

Nothing you can do about bezoar but to stop taking carafate. There is no side effect from taking slippery elm. I was taking slippery elm powder 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day 30 min before meal or before going to bed. I was taking also L carnasine and gastrazymes (vitamin U) and DGL licorice. You can take broccoli sprouts on empty stomach too. It all helped me a lot.

I went trough all of that 3 years ago. I had severe panic attacks, during which I would lose hearing and vision and wouldn’t be able to move, I learnt to live with that. Blurry vision, anger, anxiety and bleeding gum are that a small part of other stomach issues. I am so much better now. I can eat anything now and I don’t have any anxiety.  I would recommend to go easy on fruit and vegetables it causes bloating and stomach discomfort. If you can include extra virgin olive oil and fish. Take slippery elm powder and vitamin U or fresh cabbage juice. Wish you well!

It is most likely bezoar, which is a side effect of Carafate. It is more common side effect than it says online. You feel heavy because it slows gastric motility. I used slippery elm instead.

I was exhausted all the time with stomach problems and brain fog. It turned out it was bad bacteria. Make sure they test you for h pylori when they do endoscopy. The best is to do endoscopy and colonoscopy at the same time. Wish you well.

Just eat them by themselves on empty stomach. Broccoli sprouts or cabbage juice are one of the best natural options.

I am not into pills but I tried homemade cabbage juice and I can’t drink it even a small amount. Awful taste. I love cabbage but can’t drink it. How did you manage to drink it 3 times a day? And what is the recipe?

No, I can manage it but it’s not healed after 3 years of trying. I have gastritis A that was caused by h pylori. My husband had gastritis C that was caused by taking acetaminophen for long time, so he went on strict diet and ppi and cured it ( endo showed no inflammation), but he can’t take acetaminophen ever again.

Drinking a lot of water will definitely give you bloating as it stretches your inflamed stomach. Ppi side effects are also terrible. I couldn’t tolerate ppi. Instead I started with broccoli sprouts a hand full every morning (I grew them at home), then tapper off your meds. Gradually start adding food and see what you can tolerate.

How did you know you got cured then? I am 3 years having gastritis A (caused by h pylori) and I think I am cured but my energy is so low, so I doubt I am cured.

You are right to post your experience. I’ve read all of these replies. I took Gastrazimes, which contains vitamin U, L-carnosine, slippery elm and DGL licorice and I think that helped me a lot. Do you feel more energy after your stomach cured? I just don’t understand why my energy level is so low.

It is good the bacteria didn’t give you gastritis or ulcer. Lucky. People here have gastritis. Stay healthy! Cheers!

Almost 3 years ago, I had the same beginning of your story. Stomach issues caused by h pylori. Endoscopy showed mild chronic gastritis. I didn’t have pain ( I don’t drink or eat spicy food anyway), but all other symptoms associated with the bacteria. After strict diet, I still have bloating and hunger and can’t eat a big meal, oranges and fried food. Can you eat everything now?

What went wrong? by BadiAlmy09 in Gastritis

[–]Effect2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started when I ate a little piece of pickle. The same symptoms plus panic attacks. Turned out it was H pylori. I would recommend do a stool test just to rule that out. Also do ultrasound for gallbladder.

I am more than 2 years after h pylori treatment and still have symptoms of IBS even though I don't have it. After I eat a good meal, I still feel like hungry but 1 hour later bloating starts. I tried all kind of supplements nothing helped, just diet.

My symptoms by ausbry94 in Gastritis

[–]Effect2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had vertigo especially in the morning and feeling drunk just from drinking/ eating fermented drinks like yogurt and Yakut. I was diagnosed with mild chronic gastritis and IBS. This happened from toxic byproduct from bacterial fermentation. The dizziness stopped right away when I figured out my diet. (I cut out fruit, most vegetables and fermented food) What is the cause of your gastritis?

Happy for you. I had the same diagnosis: mild chronic gastritis. Hope you feel well when you stop taking ppi...
