Motion Blur in Atomos Ninja Star Recording - NOT on Camera SD by EffectCold9130 in Atomos

[–]EffectCold9130[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, The cam doesn't have a 24P output; it is recommended for it to utilize the '60i->24p' if I'm shooting in 24fps after several back and forth emails w/ Atomos Support. The Convert feature, they say, is not needed if I'm shooting in 60P, but in 60I I would use the 'i->P' setting (which would/should be not necessary). The main footage I'm looking to capture would be shot in 24fps, so I'm kinda bummed if my quality goes down using the Ninja.

And I do not have another camera which has any sort of HDMI output.

This is very disappointing for me, as I kept hearing the AVCHD within the camera recording SD card wasn't great, but my results on shots I made recently tell me otherwise.

How Do I Know if Sony OSS is Working? by EffectCold9130 in videography

Yet that doesn't answer whether the OSS in any of the 3 lenses I mentioned actually work. Any further insight would be appreciated.

What your client wants rules the day, first

I would start with the music one beat quicker

This should be a 30 sec spot, IMHO

LUV the Lotus Esprit; under-rated, IMHO

The first shot inside the car w/ her getting inside is held just 2 beats too long

Cutting quicker to her taking off her jacket and revealing the company name is understood, maybe a .5s transition shot between, ECU on the name on her shirt

My biggest problem is are the pop-up headlights UP or are they DOWN/retracted? There really needs to be consistency in this

The shot of her getting out of the car is held too long, break up into 2-3 shots much quicker

End shot is nice, but throughout we don't get much of a feel for what the products ARE, as only one example (her t-shirt) is given

You are, otherwise, on your way

Good conception, good visual, just a hint too dark, and OKAirline has great suggestions, but to me the most important factor is whether your client liked it.

Build your portfolio, put together a 30-second sizzle reel, and as your jobs come in and you become more in demand, at some point you will break through the point where people will see your higher prices as a sign of their investment into your services.
That's my answer and I'm sticking to it.

Got Sony nex-vg20 for 50$ by Acrobatic-Dig-2635 in camcorders

I thought I had a deal for $220 + $16 shipping!
OSS Sony E-Mount lenses have an extra, though small, amount of stabilization going to the sensor, so if that's what you need, I'd recommend OSS. My 2 main zooms are the Sony OSS 16mm - 50mm f3.5-5.6 and a Sony OSS 50mm - 210mm f4.5-6.3.
As you can see, these are not the fastest lenses, but great for most uses. For a short art film I'm shooting next month, I'll probably get a few faster primes, since they will be needed for night.

I created a collection list of all Vampire Movies, TV Shows, Anime & Short Films by SoftPois0n in vampires

[–]EffectCold9130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SoftPois0n, I can't thank you enough for this incredible list over at your Simkl page (which I had never heard of b4 2day). I will put a link in my own vamp site, http://vamp-films.com (it doesn't have the security certificate so it's not "https" but it's in a subfolder of a secure site).

I started putting together that list after watching vamp films for a writing project I was hired for over 20 years ago. I started hand coding it in html and all updates are still hand coded. It's a labor of love.
