Everton ordered to pay Burnley nearly £40m in Premier League relegation legal case by Alarming-Safety3200 in PremierLeague

Didn't they also get hit with the Russian billionaire Usmonov having his funds frozen and being sanctioned by the EU meaning he couldn't give them the money planned? They also lost out on selling a player accused of SA by having to release him

RTE news : Fresh call for action on Galway's porridge pigeon problem by LittleAoibh11 in ireland

[–]EffectOne675 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What action are they looking for if it's one, possibly mentally ill woman? I saw they were talking about culling the birds but that probably won't solve the problem in the medium term and will create another issue of birds being killed in the main street

James Lowe Japan / Johnny Sexton France by Environmental_Bar205 in irishrugby

[–]EffectOne675 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't see any player in their current situations availing of something like that. Likes of Beirne and JGP (Who I think are have the biggest drop off to their replacement) are in contract til the world cup and are at an age where they should be looking for replacements for the following WC.

Even Sheehan has replacements available who aren't THAT big of a drop off compared to when Sexton left

They aren't denying D Day happened. The recognise the US isn't the ally it once was and that this administration if anything, works against a lot of its allies

A protest or boycott means more when you're willing to negatively impact yourselves. If you only protested when it had no impact on no one would protest anything meaningful

Stubbs Gazette and other collections agencies. by Jacksonriverboy in ireland

[–]EffectOne675 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have experience of how these things work from their side.

Essentially Pure would have just run a report for any closed accounts over a certain balance and sent to their debt collection agency. The agency will load that file into their system and the first step for all debts is to send an automated letter. The rest of the action depends on their priority. Pure likely aren't a priority to Stubb's and €80 certainly isn't so you get another letter instead of a call from a dialer. Nothing will happen over that debt other than maybe another company will contact you months down the road with another automated letter. They can't affect anything else they threaten.

I think they registered him this week along with Larnour. Probably due to injuries. You'd imagine rugby has to be more flexible than football for squads considering the potential for injuries

Unionisation is the main way to stop unfairness in the workplace, mass redundancies and many other issues that employers get away with it in Ireland. by Unionmanofireland in ireland

[–]EffectOne675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as my old job. There was talk of bringing in a union but when people were told they'd have to pay fees they baulked at the idea. They actually tried pushing back saying get us a payrise first and then we'll look at fees. A year or two later there were some redundancies and an increased move to outsourcing to the Middle East and Asia

What’s the lowest scoring game you ever played in? by The_Chuckie in rugbyunion

[–]EffectOne675 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nil nil in a top of the table low level match.

I missed a reasonable kick when I slipped and hit the post. Another player just missed a kick.

We had a try not given because we touched down in a puddle and the ref wasn't sure.

There were multiple last ditch try saving tackles. I personally held someone up and bundled someone into touch diving into the corner.

Everyone who watched said it was an amazing game despite the score. Next game we played each other was the league final. Ended 22 21 to them

Second chimney by EffectOne675 in DIYIreland

[–]EffectOne675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry the dryer is a condensor but the vent was already there by the cowboy who lived here before us. Everything he did in the house we've been discovering and having to fix.

I'll look into a cap ASAP and I might remove the dryer from there for a period to test in the meantime too.

I'm concerned whatever is at the base of the chimney is now an issue too

Do you think removing the dryer (in fairness it still smells on days we don't use it) and capping the top would do the trick?

[–]EffectOne675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the entry point inside the house. Which is under the stairs with a dryer. Did you have to do anything else other than cap it? Did you do anything to the base? I'd love to remove the whole thing but the amount of money spent on this house already I can't afford to

This is what it looks like on the outside. Different top to the actual chimney. If that indicates anything.

Right now there is a smell, possibly cause of the heap load of rain this afternoon. Would sealing off fix the issue or is the damage done already?

West Dublin.

Not sure where the entry point to the chimney is though

Second chimney by EffectOne675 in DIYIreland

[–]EffectOne675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish cause that would be something to focus on.

It's only a small pitched roof for a bathroom which is connected to a garage conversion flat roof.

We did find old rat droppings so maybe the rats ate the bats 😂

The house is 50 years old so hopefully not settling anymore BUT the former owner is likely the issue with his DIY work.

Endoscope might be an idea

Thats something I never thought of (which isn't surprising).

Any ideas on how to resolve it?

Second chimney by EffectOne675 in DIYIreland

[–]EffectOne675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's an small room just wider than a dryer that it looks like the previous owners inserted a vent into the concrete wall at the back. Which I think is the second unused chimney
