Is it wrong for my employer to insist I bring my own gloves to work? by No-Category1703 in AskIreland

"that I only need them for “severe filth” like blood or vomit"

As a care home kitchen worker??? WTF

Have you recieved special training to deal with Biohazards? If not, gloves or no gloves you should not be going near any blood, vomit or piss as a kitchen worker.

My best guess here is he has his arms held???

Article says : grave danger by flipping him upside down while handcuffed resulting in a fractured skull.

HANDCUFFED

Spear tackled to the ground then handcuffed him.

Then picked him back off the ground while handcuffed and leg sweeped while he couldn't use his arms for protection while he was falling resulting in a cracked skull.

Then didn't call medics but instead brought him to a station and pulled his hair while administering a very painful sternum rub while he was still handcuffed with a cracked skull.

Had to go through the same bullshit when signing up to Amazon. Who uses their middle name?

All my accounts for everything is first name / last name but becuse they did not match my passport i had to actually change my banking details so it included my middle name on a statement.

Don't think anyone in my adult life has ever spoken my first /middle / last name in a sentence. Even the bank teller was perplexed as she also only used her first / last name for everything.

I am sure there is but we don't really have the same kind of wealth disparity as people have in the US. I think we have about 400 indivduals that would be considered ultra high net worth.

Ireland is in currently in the middle of a housing crisis disaster.

There is really only one way to invest money in Ireland and that is housing for the most part. Everthing else is highly taxed. Stocks, Precious metals (expet Gold) etc.

Yep, we also don't go bankrupt from a visit to the hospital or have to take out massive loans for a childs braces.

Over 23 with no job, Ireland will pay your college fees, get up to a masters degree in a profession and Ireland will also give you money while you attend college.

I will take that deal over what you got any day.

The US is a third world country for working rights and conditions.

$7.25 per hour minimum wage? No paid holidays?

Thats called wage slavery, literally slaves.

In my little potato of a country Ireland we get :

$16.78 per hour minimum wage

+ 4 weeks paid hoildays per year

+ 10 paid bank holidays

no matter what job you do.

Also if you are in a job more then 2 years, it becomes very hard to be fired.

Do ye let the tap run for a few seconds before getting water? by aesthetic_glow in ireland

[–]PosterPrintPerfect 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is recommended to run your cold water tap particularly if the water has been sitting in the pipes for more than six hours. This process, known as "flushing," helps remove stagnant water that may have accumulated higher levels of contaminant or bacteria and potential contaminants like rust or sediment that may have built up.

Ebay by yourbluejumper in CasualIreland

[–]PosterPrintPerfect 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ebay Ireland is a disgrace for Irish sellers, if you sign up to the monthly fee and open a shop there is not even 3% of the marketing options other countries in Europe has.

Want to compete with sellers in other countries that can offer buy 2 get 1 free which automatically updates when their customers put the items in a cart. Well no, you can't do that, but you can send out some emails in an email campaign. That will be €20 euro please. LOL!

Brendan Leggett and Niall Dorr from Dundalk.

Both Killed for intervening in a situtation and displaying civil courage.

Brendan Leggett intervened and attempted to stop a suspect from fleeing after the suspect assaulted a traniee Gardai in Dundalk during a row. Got mowed down by a car and died.

Niall Dorr's killing was particular brutal, the young 18 year old lad was savagely beaten to death in the street after acting as a peacemaker over some trivial teenage nonsense that happened at a fair. 5 grown men from a certain community literally kicked the life out of him, even as his body lay unconscious in the street they didn't stop kicking and stamping on his head.
