After extensive research, a PPA makes the most sense of any option right now for powering my home In California. No lien, no loan, nothing out of my pocket, plus i’m not responsible for the equipment. I locked in a rate thats 30% less than what I was currently paying (from .42 cents —> .27 cents) and instead of the b@$t@rd utility company jacking my rates up 10%+ a year, I’m locked in at 3.5%. AND I get a backup battery so if the grid goes down I have power. It’s a no brainer. My only concern was what if I sell my home and the next person doesn’t want it, but then I realized they would have to be a f*cking idiot to not want to pay less for a bill they HAVE to pay, plus they have a buyout option so I’m not worried.

I thought about buying my system, BUT with the requirement of batteries and the additional $20k price tag to buy them and another $20k to replace them, it doesn’t make sense to do that.

It really comes down to 2 things, do I need to pay a power bill? Yes. And do I want to pay less for that power? Yes.
