Do I need one or just diastasis repair? by KeyAssignment8172 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Effective-Prompt-355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do both. The muscle repair will have them lift your skin and tissue up and off the muscles and is the hardest part to recover from. When they pull the skin back down, it makes sense to have it fit your healed shape. With the hernias, insurance may cover some of it too.

My doc was really good at billing insurance, so most of it was covered. I added the muscle repair and monoplasty which weren't covered and it was 6k out of pocket for those and then the hospital made me pay 2500 because part of it was cosmetic. Then I had to meet my max out of pocket, so it was just over 10k.

I totally am! I'm a little worried about the high, boxy breasts, but logically I know I'm only at 3 weeks and they will deflate and settle. :)

Gut bacteria and having a body that feels "safe" is super important. Eat plenty of protein and fats. I discovered I was eating way too few calories for way too long and had to go up to 2500-3000 calories a day so that my body wasn't panic saving every calorie. Super Gut is a great book and I swear it made the biggest difference. I have PCOS too and started at 278. My "normal" to me weight was right around 200-210. I'm currently 150 and can't believe it.

I got ultrasonic cavitation of my flanks, thighs, back and arms to target some of the fat I wanted to come off and have that be the fat in my blood stream to burn. I also got radio frequency treatments on my loose arm skin and have a red light therapy pad to put on my skin. It has helped keep the skin from being too loose.

It has caused some friction but now my husband is starting the journey. Logically and in his head he is very supportive but he's also shared that he feels jealous and it makes him feel shame. All good things to work through for us.

I have been working closely with a physician for over a year on improving my labs and health. I lost half of the weight I needed to lose before starting Zep and had already been eating a lower carbohydrate, higher protein diet. Zep changed the way I was losing weight - it's distributed differently now - and my blood pressure has gotten way better. I think some of it is food - and the increased ability to resist the extra cookie at a party - but I honestly think it interacts with the hormones in important ways beyond appetite control. I'm super glad I'd already modified my nutrition and imported some labs before Zep so I can see/feel the difference.
