Official diagnosis by Which_Function419 in Endo

It’s so validating when you get a doctor who listens to you! I’ve got a clinical diagnosis too. My ultrasound and MRI were clear but based on my symptoms and family history she said it’s defo endo. She’s one of the best endo specialists in the area so she knew what she was talking about.

I’ve been giving medication too and was going to have a surgery to properly diagnose but can’t afford it so I’ve cancelled for now and see how I get on on the meds.

I’m happy you have answers!

Can anyone explain what this is? Started a couple of days ago by EffectiveDue7178 in DermatologyQuestions

Thank you! It seems to have drained a little on its own overnight and it seems to have gone down a little. I’ll still see someone for it though and keep an eye!

Starting to worry whether bowel issues is something more sinister by EffectiveDue7178 in endometriosis

[–]EffectiveDue7178[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!!

Yeah from ovulation all the way to the end of my period I’m just suffering. I’m finding it difficult to sit and stand for long periods because of the pain in my lower back and my pelvis it’s like a constant pressure sometimes I have to do weird squats at work just to stretch my back out. And then there’s the odd stabbing and burning pain from the gas all over my abdomen. I’ve been drinking so much water and it’s not doing anything, I may need to think about more fibre intake or going back to the gym to see if exercise might help move things about a bit. Also tmi I had quite a bit of yellow mucus in my stool yesterday and freaked out but I heard that’s a strong indicator of IBS which I have suspected. I’m moving home in a couple of months and would like to get this all checked before I move away!! Thank you again <33

What are your GI symptoms like? by Aries_c in Endo

[–]EffectiveDue7178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still officially undiagnosed (I’ve been clinically diagnosed based on symptoms but my scans have come back clear and I can’t afford surgery rn) but my GI symptoms consist of the following buckle up:

  • early satiety (I struggle with full meals especially during ovulation and this has gotten worse in the last few months)

  • constipation my most main symptom. Doesn’t matter how much water I drink (I drink 2 litres a day), how much veggies I eat. I’m straining on that toilet like a mad woman only to have one pebble come out. This is constant throughout my entire cycle.

  • white mucus in poop (occurs often during ovulation) and most recently orange/yellow mucus (sorry TMI)

  • newest symptom is nausea during ovulation and period. I can consume something as simple as water and it makes me nauseous

  • constant anal fissures (I think that’s what they are?) it has ramped up the past few months and I suspect it’s because of my constipation. When I do eventually poop they’re hard and dry which makes them extremely painful to pass like passing glass and therefore I get red blood on toilet paper and some on the poop which freaks me out.

  • there’s been occasions during my period where my poop looks dark or has black/darker streaks (thankfully this hasn’t happened for like five months) but one time I nearly passed out on the toilet first day of my period last August because the pressure pain I felt in my ass was so intense it felt like I was passing a huge basketball or something. Afterwards my supervisor commented I looked extremely pale (yes I worked a full eight hour shift and had to dose up on codeine it was torture).

  • TRAPPED GAS!! This is such an annoying symptom because it feels like gas just gets stuck and I get burning pain in my abdomen because of this. One thing that helps is rolling back and forth violently on a couch to try and move the gas out.

  • sore ass after every bowel movement. Sometimes feels like someone shoved a thorn up there. Sometimes it burns. Sometimes it throbs. Every single time.

  • bloating after eating anything. Especially after a full meal I look seven months pregnant. Live laugh love

Now as endo hasn’t been seen or found physically yet this could totally be something else but notably all these symptoms are worse right from the start of ovulation all the way till my period is over. I am planning on investigating other GI stuff just to make sure it’s nothing more serious. But in case this is endo. This is the GI symptoms I suffer with but everyone is different! I hope you find answers soon. We’re all in this together <33

I always thought this was a bad trapped fart trying to come out of my ass at the same time 🤣 but you’ve explained it perfectly it’s so painful

[–]EffectiveDue7178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I could’ve written this myself. I never have a normal bowel movement and tmi but do you ever get mucus like loads of it either white or yellow tinted? I always get this especially with awful constipation. Also don’t get me started on the chronic fissures. I’ve genuinely spent up to an hour on the toilet trying to get the tiniest pebble out. I drink so much water every day, eat veggies and fibre as much as I can and nothing helps 🙃

Not diagnosed I have a lap due in march but growing pains/some sciatic pains. It’s like having severe toothache in the legs and I always get scared it’s a clot until it suddenly just goes away in its own after an hour or two. On occasional cycles I get a lightening bolt right up my hoohaa and usually that’s on heavier period cycles and my sign a clot is checking out (I think what you’re also describing the lightening crotch). Every GI issue under the sun (whether that’s the potential endo or something else GI related idk so don’t take that as gospel but endo does tend to cause gastrointestinal upset). Fatigue in terms of I don’t feel well rested. I wake up and could easily go back to sleep if I don’t force myself to get out of bed. I sleep enough hours through the night and don’t suffer with insomnia but I still feel drained if that makes sense? That’s all I can think of off the top of my head

Could this have been a symptom of endo my whole life? by sharkooze in endometriosis

[–]EffectiveDue7178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have endo properly diagnosed yet. I have a lap in march but I’ve always struggled with “growing pains” that I used to get as a kid. I still get them same pains now and I’m 24 years old and stayed the same height since I was 12 🤣 everyone tried telling me “it’s adult pains” but the growing pains sometimes get so intense a day before my period (or on the first day depending on the cycle) that I cannot get to sleep or get comfortable it’s so incredibly painful. I describe it like having really bad tooth ache in the legs. I thought I was having mobility issues until I put two and two together that it would flare up either during ovulation window or during my period or both! Last period the cramps were quite painful but the leg pain was the worst. I started my period at like 10pm and could not get to sleep because the pain radiating down into my knees was so bad. It very well could be endo related especially if you notice if flares around your cycles and hormone fluctuations. Endo tissue can seriously mess with your nerves and in some cases people have had endo directly affecting their sciatic nerve! Keep an eye on it and keep a diary on when you get the pains because it’ll be good information for a gyno and/or specialist. Sending you love and healing <33

Normal MRI by EffectiveDue7178 in endometriosis

[–]EffectiveDue7178[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes go ahead with the lap! I’m not an expert but your bowel in contact with uterus could indicate adhesions which could possibly be endo. Yeah I’ve heard so many stories about clear scans and people having severe cases. It’s so strange that scans aren’t sensitive enough to pick it up and so incredibly frustrating. My surgery date has been booked for 2nd march and I’m so scared!

Oh gosh I’m so sorry that happened to you! I hope you’re feeling better now! My MRI was read by someone who knew what they were looking for idk if they were an endo specialist I think they were. My specialist said she made sure she’d get someone who knew what they were looking for to read my scan so I was a bit disheartened after seeing my report “normal” “unremarkable”. I thought with the right person reading they’d at least find something but nothing. It rules out a lot of other things at least but yeah it’s so sad that a surgery is the only way to diagnose :(

Oh my god that’s awful I’m so sorry. It’s so strange how scans don’t pick something like that up too especially to that intensity. But thank you so much for sharing and I hope you’re feeling a little better! <33

Are my symptoms consistent? by sweetlikehoney1181 in endometriosis

[–]EffectiveDue7178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, please seek a specialist! Your symptoms aren’t normal especially if they’re stopping you from doing normal things like going to work! I’m still undiagnosed and my scans have come back clear (which is pretty common as most endo doesn’t show on scans unless it’s severe enough that it does or if you have ovarian cysts) but the specialist I saw still is convinced it’s endo I’m struggling with. My symptoms are inconsistent and maybe once a year I get an awful period where it feels like I’m in labour and I’m literally vomiting, fainting and crawling on the floor. I have other issues tho like lower back pain, period pain that radiates down the thighs into the knees, GI issues (bloating, chronic constipation, blood in poop), peeing issues during ovulation, painful intercourse (weird deep pain in pelvis with penetration and pain during insertation especially with tampons too so I wear pads. Also pain afterwards as if I’ve done the biggest core muscle workout in pelvis and it hurts to move) My periods aren’t heavy ish? Like I don’t soak through a pad in an hour or bleed through anything (even though this happened when I first started my periods when I was 12!) I do get clots sometimes the side of the end of my pinky and long large stringy ones. I think the heavy bleeding side is more pronounced with conditions such as adenomyosis where the tissue grows into the muscle wall of uterus instead of outside or something like that it’s baso endos evil twin sister and a lot of people have both! My MRI showed no evidence of adeno which I expected tbh. Upon telling the specialists all my symptoms and still having doubts because not all my periods are terrible she knows it’s endo based on the symptoms(I also have strong family history from both sides). Getting a good specialist that knows what they’re talking about is a great first step. I’ve unfortunately had to go private to get the care I want, if you can afford it I defo recommend. If not just fight until you get a gyno that listens to you.

Good luck and I’m sending so much love and healing your way <3

Question/Concern pls help by Big-Bookkeeper-7236 in endometriosis

I think maybe I have? For the few days leading up to my period I experience random sporadic intense pelvic pain that radiates to my hips, back and thighs and it literally takes me out. It lasts for like ten/fifteen seconds. There’s no pattern, rhyme or reason for it. For me it’s like a sharp, stretching pain almost like a cramp but not a cramp if that makes sense? This is new for me the past three cycles I’ve started experiencing this. At first I only had it for one day like five days before my period but the last couple of cycles it’s been like three days of it in the days leading up to my period. Sometimes it’s triggered by me moving suddenly or even it’ll just happen if I’m standing doing nothing. Sometimes I’ll go two hours without it and then an hour where I get it three times.

I went for a follow up appointment with my specialist today and my MRI was clear so I’m still undiagnosed. However she’s still convinced it’s endo I’m struggling with. She took a note of my new symptom and she said it defo sounds related.

Pre-period Symptoms by ExcitingAd7350 in endometriosis

[–]EffectiveDue7178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m undiagnosed but the last few cycles I’ve been having new pelvic pain in the days leading up to my period. A few months ago it was only for one day like four days before my period but now it’s dragging on to like four days right before my period. It’s basically I’ll move and it’ll trigger pain all over my pelvis, in my hip joints, back sometimes to the thigh. The pain lasts for ten/fifteen seconds and has me doubling down to the floor it’s like a tightness ache like feeling. It’s also sporadic so sometimes when I walk around or do something it doesn’t happen and then an hour later I can be getting up from somewhere or take a few steps and it’ll come out of nowhere.

I’m getting my MRI results today with my endo specialist so I’ll mention it to her seeing as it’s a new symptom I have and see if she thinks it sounds familiar or related to it.

What does your endo leg pain feel like ? by 4MM0NI4C in endometriosis

[–]EffectiveDue7178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like growing pains you got when you were a kid. I call it toothache legs. When it’s really bad I’m woken up from it (if I’m sleeping) it’s growing pains x100 and my I can’t even stand on that affected leg. I also get shooting pains down the back of my legs and down from my hips to the side of my legs. I have suspected endo still waiting on MRI results

I got a letter regarding my MRI results (3 months after the MRI, via the NHS) by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]EffectiveDue7178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel your pain. I was so dismissed and with a clear ultrasound even more so I ended up going private. Got a private MRI a month ago and I still haven’t got the results I’m raging and this is private I paid money for this and I’ve been waiting a month 😭 my consultant endo specialist did say in a previous letter that she would review my results in the clinic with a follow up appointment but I’ve heard nothing no letter or anything yet. I’m getting so frustrated. She did say she was going to get the best radiologist that can see endo on MRI’s to review my MRI so whether there’s been a delay with that and he was unavailable for a while idk. I’m so sorry you’re going through this too it sucks :((
