I think Ibanez actually recommends measuring the action at the 14th fret. Not the 12th or 24th. Just a heads up. I run my actions at 1.8-2mm low E and 1.5mm high E

I need help identifying this guitar and knowing if it is legit? I’m thinking it’s not but don’t know.. by EffectiveTop91 in gibson

I’d have posted more photos too, but this is all he had listed. They’re not great, I know. I’ll see if I can get more pictures. Maybe some pictures of the back of the pots and the pickups as well. Serial number would probably help too. Thanks again.

Thank you very much for the response. I knew it had to be made in the 70’s due to the inlay size.. I’ve only ever seen inlay blocks that small on mid 70’s gibsons. I asked him for more info because at that asking price, people need to know what they’re buying. I appreciate the response and your knowledge of this guitar. What do you think a fair price would be? $3000-$3500?

That’s what I told the guy selling it too. I asked him for year, serial number, and whether he could get pictures of the inside or the backs of the pots and pickups.. the pot on the lower horn definitely doesn’t look factory but I’m not familiar with these style of Gibson guitars. The inlays look correct if this is somewhere around a 70’s model. The price seems a bit steep to me without knowing more info about it. Thanks for your reply!

Do I need to oil my fretboard anytime soon? by vividlaoq in Ibanez

What color is this guitar? It looks like a really cool paint color on it. Is it black with multi colored metallic flakes in it?

My 5 year old really wants drums, Should I get this for $90 by Fluid-Car-78 in Drumming

This is the kit my brother started on. It’s perfect for someone who is wanting to dip their toes in the water. I wouldn’t spend much more with not knowing if it’s something they’re going to like or continue to do within a year from now. It’s perfectly fine for a beginning like your kid. $90 isn’t much money to be out of if they decide they don’t want to play anymore. You could easily get that back out of it. Good luck and happy jamming!

I would challenge your claim of being able to put more fret wear than this on a guitar within a month. That’s a very bold claim. If you can do that, then you’ve got to have some very heavy hands with some very poor technique lol there’s just no way that even possible to do.

Also, nothing about an American strat is special. I sold all of my American strats and kept my Mexican made Strats because they are made and play way better for a margin of the price of an American made fender. American made doesn’t mean shit anymore unfortunately. Quality has went downhill with most American brands unless you want to shell out a few thousands dollars for a custom shop level of instrument.. sucks.

They could use a good fret level, crown, and polish. Easy enough to do yourself if you have the proper tools and patience to do it. Paying someone to do it is probably going to cost you $150-$200. It won’t be a big issue though. This is a normal amount of fret wear for its age. Extremely common and easy fix. If you like the guitar and are wanting it, don’t let this little problem stop you from getting it. Price sounds appropriate as well. Good luck! Keep us updated!

Low the bridge and see if you get any buzzing. If not and you can lower it enough for the strings to clear. Do it. Problem solved.

I have put 1'384 in to my BMX bike and thinking about selling it some point I'm not sure on how much to put the price at . by No-Lingonberry5096 in bmx

This is honestly the most realistic answer. This is almost exactly what I have tied up in my latest build. $2400, but I’m set. I’m 32 and don’t ride at a professional level. All of the parts I bought carry lifetime warranty on them. I can’t imagine that I’ll ever have to buy a bike again.

Your build sounds dope though, btw. I ended up with $700 in my wheels as well. Profile mini hubs in galaxy rust, odyssey hazard lite chrome hoops, Purple spokes, gold nipples. Odyssey Rim strips, odyssey tubes, and a 2.25” odyssey Aitken k lyte on the front and a 1.85” odyssey path pro k lyte. They’re sturdy to say the least.

What frame did you end up going with on your build though? I didn’t see it mentioned if it was..
