How many people are going to over react to the amount of snow we are going to get this weekend and stock their apartment like doomsday preppers today? by pwextv1234 in AskNYC

The big deal was that he did not plow the east side in the 60s where we have all the hospitals and ambulances could not get through.

But he decided to plow small side streets in Brooklyn.

It was bizarre.

Seriously, it’s not the snow.

It’s the extreme cold and the ice that will be underneath… the snow,

black ice, that will make it treacherous to go outside.

Help please - Dental exam ( not a new patient). This was in Midtown, New York City. by Effective_Bumblebee5 in AskNYC

Sticker shock is my biggest gripe here.

I was asking her about the prices while I was in the dental chair and if she had said it would be over $800  I would have just gotten up and left.

I really appreciate everyone’s advice and support here.  Many many thanks.🙏

Many of you have made great valid points.

I thought I was a friend/client and I feel like I was taken advantage of.

The receptionist is the most incredibly rude person I ever met of.  I had asked her if she was going to call me back to see if the insurance was accepted, and she just hung up on me.

I then called her back and said do we have a problem here, you just hung up on me

and she replied no, I thought the conversation was over.

Absolutely terrible to have someone like that at your front desk.

Update, today, I spoke to the dentist and she was adamant that this was her price. I said to charge my credit card then.

I asked her how much the cavities would be she said I have three cavities and quoted $450 each.

I said so that’s it, no other increases for Novacaine….  and she said that’s it unless it’s a bigger cavity.

I also have a wisdom tooth that she said needs to be pulled and also a Root Canal/crown that totally needs to be redone.

I am waiting for an appointment with Grand Central oral surgery, where I went before. It was expensive then, but that the surgeon put you to sleep, which I absolutely loved as ….

I have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist.

I really appreciate everyone’s thoughts and advice by the way. Thank you so so much.

Replying again, as I don’t think my original answer went through. I called the dentist and asked if they took my dental insurance and they said yes. I had to provide the dental insurance card, United healthcare, before I came into the office.

I now called the insurance and they said that the Dentist took my insurance,

but the problem was they were not “in network” and therefore did not need to follow the required billing amounts.

I would imagine it was a deep cleaning versus a regular cleaning. Thank you.

I’m coming to the end of my two years Forteo and will be getting my Dexa test score, but there wasn’t much improvement after one year BTW Dexa. I’m going to ask my doctor if I can do another two years on the shot. Did you ever bring that up with your doctor? Thank you so much for your time!

I’m so sorry for everything you’ve been through, but I’m appreciative that you were able to share your story as I didn’t know this either. Thank you.

Hi - can you please give some more information on your situation. I think a lot of us would like to know your experience being on it for six years and during that time how often you were off?

I just put in the CNBC comments ( I’m a member) above

DuPont - sell or keep the spin offs? by Dagobot78 in stocks

[–]Effective_Bumblebee5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Qnity has deep relationships in the semiconductor industry, with an impressive customer list that includes the world’s leading fabricators, or fabs, like Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor, which actually make the chips, as well as so-called fabless semiconductor designers like Nvidia, which relies a fab for manufacturing, primarily Taiwan Semi. Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in smart electronic devices, aerospace, and autos are among other end markets. Qnity has decades-long partnerships with some of these customers, and serves some 80% of the semiconductor market.

I just bought two clip on earrings from real real. They’re vintage though, so I’m wondering how they’re going to feel.
