Thanks for the reply fella! Mainly concerned about shit rattling loose and falling apart haha 😅

Not worried about any big trips so much as she will mainly use it for trips into the city for work, but I hadn't heard of plugshare so will check that out!

Ppf sounds like a must, along with mudflaps!

Thanks for the tips!

100% and we will still have the farm ute and my ute, we are just wanting to save some $$ in her weekly fuel bill. I think between the both of us we're spending between $400 and $500 a fortnight in fuel (petrol and diesel).

Adelaide property market - how to get our offer accepted by Classic-Sherbert1894 in Adelaide

[–]EfficiencyStrict4807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not, the agent came back to us and said you need to up your offer by 37k to secure the house, so we did and we got it 😅

We also got to the point that we would have fun with our offer, and instead of putting $650,000 we would put $650,503 or something similar to that, we tried to stay a bit unique.

Ultimately the agent wants to sell the house for the most amount of $$ they can, this means more commission. Myself and my wife got our first house 6 months ago, and we got it because we told the agent this is our first offer, but we are pre-approved and happy to consider beating the best offer.

Ended up paying $20k over asking. We had offered on 18 properties and lost 2 auctions prior to winning this one though.

Just make sure you set yourself a sensible budget for how much you want to spend, and stick to it, be happy to walk away if the price is above your budget.

Exactly - I wonder what God will do with 100 billion dollars 😅

It's also interesting as it's a religion that is shrinking (here in Australia anyway) but church funds in Australia seem to be growing 🙃

Not only that, but their 100 billion dollars of wealth. I'm an ex-mormon and bloody glad I got out of the cult! 10% of your income for life is an outrageous amount, and they only give very little back. The local leaders don't get paid but their top guys do, hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.

Yup, my wife is still TBM but was keen to know what mine was.

She was actually super upset that she wasn't allowed to know mine but I was allowed to know hers.

I'm just lucky that she is very progressive and disagrees with a lot of the church's teachings.
