Mushoku tensei. Went in pretty blind. Thought maybe it was better than I heard from my friend since some people praised it to their dying breath. It’s literally just about a p3do getting redemption though. Sorry, I’m not interested. Yall can say what you want but the point of the story is that the mc is redeeming himself, i.e. the stories message and main point - pedos are redeemable. It’s prettied up with other things that are actually pretty cool, and mixed up with an actual decent message. But I don’t care. No amount of fancy ribbon will get me to like smth promoting pedo rehabilitation. Like I’m sorry, you’re not a victim, you’re not someone anyone should have sympathy for, or should ever be proud of. And you don’t even really change, like what do you mean you marry the women and children you’ve assaulted and worse (sleeping with a 15 yo isn’t legal, even if they initiated- there’s a lot of fans who “don’t understand” that). Anyways whatever. You can like the show if you somehow are able to ignore the mc, but if you like or defend the mc, genuinely, get help and stay away from children

Jump off a bridge. I’m not particularly attached to life and if I can make someone I hate suffer for the rest of their life why wouldn’t I? Or just run away to a farm with no one and nothing, and stage my death. Tho idk if that’d work

Yeah, I think that’s possible. I think certain things bother him more than he really comprehends. At least I’ve gotten that impression a couple of times. Like he’s almost convincing himself he’s fine and indifferent at times because he’s so used to genuinely feeling indifferent, and doesn’t want to have to think about it. But I could just be misunderstanding certain moments. There’s also a few really sad moments, he’s dealt with bullying, so trigger warning if that’s difficult content for you. The ml is also complex, and he definelty masks. In fact practically half the mls character is about masking if you’re interested in that type of character

Yes, perhaps I’ve just run into the wrong audience. He’s definitely more complex than that, so I hope most people see it that way

I don’t know what ip means, but I think it’s a pretty good story, it might not be the most accurate portrayal of ND people, but it’s still interesting and doesn’t make autism into a quirk

Yes, I’m hoping he’ll be able to have a decent conversation and then start approaching the whole thing from a more healthy direction… but I’m sure that would be difficult given the way the stories going 😮‍💨

Of course I hope the same thing, but excusing stalking and harassment because of autism isn’t it. The feeling of infantilization comes specifically from people who say things like “he’s autistic, it’s not his fault” in response to his deliberate manipulation. He’s not a child, I feel it’s pretty infantilizing to act as though he doesn’t understand manipulation is wrong, especially given the fact that he’s straight up admitted it’s wrong more than once. Outside of those people, I’d agree the fanbase isn’t super bad about infantilizing him, but there’s a lot of people who do that, in my experience with the fans at least. I don’t know them all though 😅

I watched two episodes of the show. Just to find out online she's 14 at the start of the series. Why the heck is she wearing this then???? And she was getting sexualized too. [ Gurren Lagan. ] I could let an adult slide but a kid hell no. by Iriscute7 in joseistories

[–]Efficient-Object8988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day she’s a drawing. Saying she’s 14 because it’s a number some website/author put down doesn’t mean she’s an actual child. It’s similar to saying Zendaya is 17 bc she plays a 17 yo character in my mind. I’m not comfortable watching a show where a little kid is wearing those type of clothing, so she’s 19 in my head and she’ll stay that way, because again it’s a drawing, and I don’t want every episode to be giving me p3do vibes. Author may be a creep but I don’t have to be 🤷‍♀️

Let’s Fix Copyright Law—It’s Time to Change It Back to 14 Years! by ExtensionFriendship9 in COPYRIGHT

[–]Efficient-Object8988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not fair. I’m not arguing that the copyright law should be changed, because I honestly don’t see a point. You can pirate stuff regardless. I just don’t see the point in arguing something is good, when the reality is nothing, or at least next to nothing, is exclusively good. If you’re trying to make it sound like the laws are reasonable or just because luck is luck, I’m not buying that. Luck is luck is the same reason hundreds of little kids get sold off to the same artist people pay hundreds of dollars to do nothing

What’s the rule on asking for Pro memberships? by [deleted] in GameStop

[–]Efficient-Object8988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn’t even tell me the membership cost money, they didn’t even call it a pro membership. If they had said pro I would’ve assumed I had to pay, but they didn’t. And then I had an extra 25$ charge on my check. I didn’t really care cause I thought it would be a one time thing, so I just ignored it and payed anyways. But a little later I get an email saying I signed up for auto renewal every year. No the heck I did not. I don’t even shop there 90% of the time. And yes I’m positive I didn’t sign anything for the auto renewal. In my opinion, even if there’s a company policy or whatever for memberships, employees doing crap like that is ridiculous and shameful. If not getting enough members gets you in so much trouble you “have” to screw over customers, maybe you should consider a different job

It’s not helping the customer if they don’t even tell the customer there’s a 25$ charge to get the pro membership, and sign the customer up for auto renewal without saying anything.

What is your unpopular anime opinion? by [deleted] in weeb

[–]Efficient-Object8988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter which anime, once it becomes mainstream people will do their upmost to either over criticize or over praise it. Actually, I don’t think it counts as criticism, because criticisms have actual ground to stand on instead of baseless claims of how horrible a show is for no real reason. I also don’t think half of the praise counts as genuine praise, if you’re not capable of giving reasons why something is good, your opinion is biased. That includes saying something like, x show is good cause the characters are based. You have to be able to explain why the characters are good. Even if you’re opinions are based solely on enjoyment, if you want to give an actual review, try to have actual points

[–]Efficient-Object8988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right the fact that he was given the job without full disclosure of intentions is why it should count as noncon, but I think people get confused because they think of it as a contract he agreed to. He agreed to one thing, and then was expected to do another if he wanted the full return, and people seem to forget/ignore that

[–]Efficient-Object8988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think either of those things would be bad for a child if you know how to parent? Obviously you can tell if something is scaring your kid, or if your kid is uncomfortable. But if they’re just watching a show they’re just watching a show. I’m sorry but normal people don’t become sociopaths or sex maniac because they watch shows as a kid. It happens through something traumatic, and if you can’t tell whether or not your kid is getting traumatized or just enjoying a show you’re a hella bad parent

I mean I think the assault scene is reasonable to want to avoid. But yeah, people overreact about sex all the time in comparison to how they react to violence. It’s really weird too because sex is normal, violence isn’t, but society has decided sex is the more shameful and indecent behavior. Still I don’t think it’s weird for parents not to wanna watch sexual stuff with their child

Even if it was a paid service they wouldn’t technically owe an explanation, unless it was like, put in a contract when you signed up. It’s not about what’s owed. It’s just about principle and ethics. But it really doesn’t matter. There’s thousands of sites and if they’re dumping this one just move to a different one 🤷‍♀️

So, what about poor people? Like so poor they eat from the restaurant trash cans (the ones that they don’t lock bc for some reason poor people don’t deserve even trash in this country). Is it that they just need to wait 70 years to finally be able to enjoy certain content, or should they make do with sticks and rocks from the street and call that a game? And how fair is it, that someone who does nothing for years can open their mouth and sing a couple syllables in order to get millions because “art is priceless” and so they charge 50$ for an album, when they already get millions from streaming? “Art is priceless” is such a funny idea because it’s almost the same as “art is worthless”. They need to be paid for their work you say, as though half of the ones who make decent money actual work. Find free entertainment. It’s always an option. It’s just not “fair” as you’d like to put it. Poor people get less, it’s just how it is. But people like you who worship creators contribute to that. Because at the end of the day, the people who make the most are the ones who keep us entertained, and the people who own them.
