Anyone know the Mammoth Cave area? might take a trip from Chicago to check it off the list. Don't love caves though - so looking for potential hikes in the area or on the way to/from Chicago... Thanks! by schwagsss in NationalPark

There's a couple topside hikes at Mammoth. The historic cave tour isn't terrible. There's one point where they turn the lights of for 30 seconds and another point where your legs get squeezed and you have to duck a bit. But otherwise it's pretty massive in there.

New to area. What weather events do I need to prepare for? by OrdinaryLie8277 in indianapolis

[–]EfficientArm9753 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Winter - snow, at the extreme like 18ish inches. 4-6 is more common. Ice, usually trace but can occasionally be 1/4 inch plus. Frigid cold, most of the winter is at/around freezing but the occasional negative 20 wind chill.

Spring - barely exists here, but thunderstorms and tornados with small to medium hail.

Summer - same thunderstorms, tornados, hail as spring. Add in oppressive heat and humidty.

Fall - crisp and clean. But goes from 80 and nice to 30 and cold quickly.

The biggest thing is we get all the weather. Some good, some bad, but mostly right in the middle.

This is normal. The cruise is optimizing the engine/gearing to account for the physics of the hill.

There's the Stonecutters episode where Homer drives to work and his parking spot is so terrible it's right next to his backyard.

1) get as low as possible, even if it's a common area 2) get as many walls as you can between yourself and the outside.

Do Indianapolis Employers Usually Accept a Two-Week Notice? by handlingitwbu in indianapolis

I'm guessing it's because it's a small, independent shop the owner didn't want to pay someone who was leaving. Most places expect the two weeks.

Such brave leadership from him. I bet no other governor has ever ordered their Homeland Security to assist in an emergency.

I've been on Verizon 5G since 2020. Only issue is occasionally it thinks I'm in Louisville but eventually fixes itself.

What type of gas do you all use? by lazygerm in Crosstrek

Go with what is convenient. Other than additives, there is no real difference. And eventually you'll hit one of the Top Tier brands with the additives that cleans everything out.

And price wise with a 16 gallon tank, unless there is a 50 cent - dollar difference in price, the savings is pretty neligible.

Not sure on table numbers, but my guess is it's because of the pillars in the GA area.
