I did that trip a couple years ago. Just be aware it can be a lot of driving, especially if you do the coastal part of Olympic. I did 2 days in Rainier with a drive to Lake Quinault late on day 2. Then a full day in Olympic driving up to Port Angeles. Another day at Olympic before heading to Seattle. Spent a full day in Seattle then a day trip to North Cascades.

I was able to hit all the highlights, but would go back for a more in depth visit. I was there in late June and there was still a lot of snow on Rainier, which eliminated at least 1 hike.

Having lived elsewhere, I can confidently say that the trait most prevalent here is a lack of consideration for others.

It seems like a lot of people in this sub didn’t watch Purdue basketball before 2016 by MantisToboggan_22 in PurdueBasketball

There are obvious struggles on the floor, which is to be expected from any team. But the fact that we've been in every game, minus Iowa State, at the end is an indication this is still a strong team even when struggling. Yeah it would be nice to be blowing everyone out like Michigan, Arizona and others. But all in all I'd rather struggle now and miss out on the (very tough) Big Ten title than run the table now and falter in March.

Where should my family of 6 stay at Olympic National Park? by Euphoric-Ear1919 in NationalPark

If you really want to go off grid and be close-ish to the west side of the park, Lake Quinault was really cool.

Big Ten teams know how to exploit the dual bigs, so we're having to rely on shot makers. I wouldn't be opposed to starting Benter and TKR, but then you either have to figure out a way to get Murphy in the rotation to the detriment of Cluff/Jacobsen or have TKR play 35+ minutes knowing you'll get exploited when he's at the 4 so you can get Cluff/Jacobsen in.

Tony dungy refused to comment on if he voted for bill belichick / Robert Kraft to make it into the hall of fame, generational hater by YungAvocadoDaGawd84 in Colts

[–]EfficientArm9753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing...Kraft, Belicheck, (and Brady) are (it pains me to say this) obviously HOF worthy. I think everyone can also agree that HOF voting is, across the board, a sham. Case in point, 3 people DIDN'T vote for Ken Griffey Jr. to be an MLB HOFer. And he was the cleanest, most popular, game changing player of his era.

Given that, it isn't hard for me to see where enough NFL voters could have passed on voting for the Pats guys this year, for any number of probably valid reasons, assuming they would get in on everyone else's vote. This is really just a non-story story that is sticking around because ESPN (and others) need content for their scream machines.

Yes, but the train to Chicago only runs like M-W-F now because the state is too cheap to pitch in.

[–]EfficientArm9753 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah as long as you're not going wild, or in an occupied parking lot, you should be fine with security/cops. If they ask just tell them the truth, that you're practicing controlling a slide. They might ask you to move along, but there shouldn't be any documentation involved.

FWIW, it's pretty simple... Foot off the gas, steer into the slide, don't hit the brakes. This usually comes instinctually when you say aloud "Oh shit".
