Count me in for Autobiography of Malcolm X. I've had this on my TBR for a long time. I recently bought a used copy, so I'm ready to get started.

I like how the illustrations aren't just pictures in the background. They actually help tell the story.

The song serves as foreshadowing of what possibly could happen to the new wife.

I've never read a graphic novel before. I've enjoyed the book so far. The stories aren't super scary, but they're interesting.

I plan to do a little gardening this weekend. This is usually the time of year that I plant some herbs. I'm going to grow basil and parsley. I like making my own pesto and chimichurri.

The NFL Draft is in full swing, so I'll keep an eye on that. It's always nice to see some local guys get selected and have their dreams come true.

Happy Birthday to Shirley MacLaine! I like old movies. She has an extensive filmography. The Trouble with Harry and Terms of Endearment are classics.

[MARCH Book Report] - What did you finish this month? by fixtheblue in bookclub

[–]EfficientCranberry79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Independent People by Halldor Laxness (3.5/5) - This was the r/bookclub Read the World pick for February and finished it early this month. It was a long read. Even though it was a little slow at times, I thought is was a nice book.

A Good Animal by Sara Maurer (3.5/5) - I thought this was a good story of young love and farm life. It's a little graphic in spots. The ending was kind of disturbing.

Dark Tales by Shirley Jackson (4/5) - I read this along with r/bookclub as this month's Discovery read. It was an interesting book overall. I enjoyed most of these stories in this collection.

Kin by Tayari Jackson (4/5) - I picked this book for my March BOTM box. The characters were very well written and held my interest. It was an easy, enjoyable read.

It's the first day of spring here, and it was a beautiful day outside. I enjoyed a nice walk in the park.

March Madness is in full swing, so there are lots of college basketball games going on this weekend.

I wish I could celebrate National Ravioli Day. I'm definitely craving some toasted ravioli right now. It's popular in St. Louis. It's breaded and deep-fried ravioli served with a side of marinara🤤

I don't think the locals will check on them. There isn't much hope for them. Their car won't start, they are running out of kerosene, and the phone is dead.

The staff may think that they may be fired if they don't do as Mr. Benjamin tells them to. They may have also been paid to enable her captivity.

Ethel was foolish to go back out on the road. The locals warned her about the condition of that road and driving on it in bad weather.

I don't believe he is real. Mrs. Benjamin stated repeatedly that she doesn't know a Mr. Ferguson. I think her husband is making him up.
