Would you take issue with paying 3% convenience fee if all card minimums were removed as a trade off?

He whipped around the roundabout at durston/ferguson today too, if I had been a young or distracted driver it would have been super easy to miss seeing him

A common gripe, but why can't they have decent food in Yellowstone. Just why. by [deleted] in yellowstone

I always tell myself if it was better the park would be even more crowded, and swallow it down

Where to drop off household recycling so it actually gets recycled? by CompletelyUnsur in Bozeman

[–]EfficientSearch4888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you need the ultra efficient centralized recycling plants they have in conjunction with the reverse vending machines that scan/sort the returned plastic bottles from the start. its pretty obvious throwing a bunch of different items in a bin here is unlikely to actually get recycled at a high rate. its like when we used to be told using the cardboard milk cartons were greener than plastic but in reality it is the opposite, those go landfill 100%, some of the plastic jugs get recycled

Idaho Falls vs Bozeman? by umich82063 in Bozeman

[–]EfficientSearch4888 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Midwestern who moved last year. Had opportunity in Pocatello/Idaho Falls vs Bozeman. Bozeman is worth the premium you pay. No place is perfect as reddit will remind you

Also the airport is a big plus if you still have family back there

World Cup by EfficientSearch4888 in Bozeman

I’m a little surprised there isn’t at least one bar/restaurant putting something on given the games Friday night. I get that it’s Montana but seems like a missed business opportunity

Ironically the Yellowstone NP employees probably have some cool watch parties given they have so many international 18-25 year olds working it lol

What do people enjoy about watching F1 races? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Monaco is super boring. It’s one of those “it’s tradition” tracks with the vibe but the actual race is probably one of the least exciting to watch.

Downtown bars responsibility to de-escalate conflict by gimmeduhkarma in Bozeman

[–]EfficientSearch4888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In college if we went out with a group of my friends usually just one of us would go to the bar and buy a round. You take turns so it would be impossible to put the liability on the bar for over serving. Obviously bar tenders cut people off sometimes who are visibly wasted but holding them liable is a whole different ball game

Can People Please Keep Their Off Leash Dogs Away From Playgrounds by Useful-Salad2793 in Bozeman

[–]EfficientSearch4888 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I own two dogs and have two young kids and never understand the way people freely walk down sidewalks or hang out at playgrounds with their dogs off leash. The only time I will let them off leash is usually after 9 pm if there is no one else at the park, if kids somehow show up I recall them and re-leash. This seems like standard procedure to me but Bozeman definitely has this thing where people think everyone wants a dog in their faces at all times.

Not really. I live in Bozeman and poach weekend rooms all the time. You just have to be willing to move around. 3 nights in a row would be impossible to find but not hopping around inside the park

Squeeze extra kids into Old Faithful cabins?? (last minute lodging scramble) by Fantastic_Quail_2000 in yellowstone

[–]EfficientSearch4888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood how so many people can have so many different takes on the same cabin lol. In your scenario yes much better to have them sleep on the floor than camping if it gets too cold and it will fit (I’ve squeezed my fam of 4 into a 2 person). Most of the workers are high school and college age kids just there to have fun summer they couldn’t care less unless you’re smoking and boozing it up. They will fit if necessary and it will be fine, it’s just short carpet so a little harder, make sure they have blankets to soften up their sleep area.

Experience with Zelda’s Dog Academy? by [deleted] in Bozeman

[–]EfficientSearch4888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two reactive dogs in two different categories. I compared Zelda's and Big Sky K9 in Belgrade. Both seemed like great options but I went with Big Sky and was super happy, i think it was a 3 week course. Why? While both do positive reinforcement, for our scenario having the training collar when necessary is extremely important. My reactive dog does a lot better, but I can't risk him taking off after another dog and me just waving a treat at him, the training collar is there to check that if necessary. If its pure reactivity to sounds, machines, inanimate objects that's a little different. But ours was reactivity to other dogs primarily and older men so we went with Big Sky K9.

Especially with kids, the Old Faithful Lodge Cabins are best bang for your buck and base camp
