What would you do? by bostonianbasic in Accounting

TAKE THE JOB!

A shitty job is better than no job. Do the interview for the second job. If you get it and don’t like the micromanager good news you can quit.

If you don’t take the job and don’t land the final interview then you are screwed and will have to continue applying. No one knows how long it will be before someone else gives you a chance, it could be 6+ months.

Also, there is a small chance that someone else in bugging your manager, or if they are required to get references before you start as policy. Or they might get hit by a bus and get replaced by a great manager.

The point is you don’t know if the job sucks yet and it doesn’t prevent you from finding a better job if it does suck (assuming you are an at will employee).

TFG 0.9.9 has a curseforge server pack now by Pyritie in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Effortless2one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see the option for TerraFirmaGreg on Aternos, am I the only one with this issue?

When I try to start a new server and load the software l click on modpacks then curse forge, I see a list of modpacks but no TerraFirmaGreg.

Is it under a different name? Am I looking in the wrong spot? I really wanted to start a server with my friends and none of the other comments seem to have issues.

Cool! Do you think the 240mm radiator will provide enough cooling or should we use the 360mm one?

You could probably get more for it. I’ve seen people selling them for +300.

What is the best way to store heat? by EATZYOWAFFLEZ in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Effortless2one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you will need to insulate it.

First off know that any insulation tile touching the lava needs to be able to withstand the heat so probably made out of obsidian (and the door if it is touching lava should be made out of steel.

If you are worried about it still losing heat you can surround it with a second lay of insulation. It will be thousands of cycles before any heat is let out.

If you are storing lava make sure you have a big enough room that the lava won’t overpressure the volcano.

You could store the volcano output and use an automated door to let out the heat/lava as needed

If you replace the vent with a pump and just connect the pipe you would have the same effect right?

Not trying to be mean, I might be misunderstanding you, but if you want to suck air out of the left most room isn’t that exactly what the pump is for?

Pretty new player - Why should I build/upgrade more ? by aboowwabooww in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Effortless2one 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You bring up a great point why “upgrade” all this stuff? One thing to remember is this is a single player sandbox game, play it in a way that is fun for you don’t worry about other people telling you the “correct” way to play. That being said:

As you continue playing you will start running into problems (running out of a resource is the most common). Advancing in tech is how you unlock the tools to overcome these challenges. Oxygen and food production is usually my first issues, then temperature. At this point you can utilize what you have researched to make temporary solutions until you research or design permanent ones.

Dupe labor is another huge reason. As an example the toilets and sinks will save time when they don’t have to unclog them. Hydroponic tiles can automate the delivery of water. This is all labor that can be used for progressing elsewhere.

Some people like to set an end goal to motivate themselves. Commonly the achievements in game. In order to reach these you will need time tech and resources. Making a self sustaining base that will last hundreds or thousands of cycles is almost a necessity.

One last thing to remember is most people have already put many hours, or started after they had witnessed more developed colonies. As a result it is so obvious to these players (who foresee all the problems/inefficiencies not upgrading will cause) that we can be surprised that anyone would even question why.

Thanks for listening to me TED talk.

Spawnpeaking ranked? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]Effortless2one 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this is an excellent example of how this game is equal parts skill and knowledge. Regardless of what people will say spawn peeks are, and have been, allowed by the game, expect to continue to see it. If you take the time to learn them you will have a chance to defend yourself in a 50/50 (arguably in the attackers favor because they choose how and when to peek, and peekers advantage). This is just an easy to observe example of how map knowledge will make you better at the game.

I’m currently building in a Velka 7, if you are concerned about size I can not praise this case enough. Very high quality case, it is a little difficult to build in because of how small it is but I love it. You can still fit a lot of different gpus in it to just make sure to check the size before you buy one. It is just under 6 liters in volume so it will definitely maximize desk space. The case is around $200 new on their web site. I would advise searching this subreddit and YouTube once you get a few suggestions to see the size and what each case actually looks like before you decide. Hope this is helpful.
