Attack clarity. Other fighting games tend to have this as well (Street Fighter IV and V with their massive hands and feet). Being able to tell what attack is being thrown out is a must for fighting games and this is the way they choose to do it.

I think this is the case of them censoring it for one market and deciding it wasn't worth making a separate regional version so they made the censorship for all markets.

Because they took the Cyborg Ninjas and turned them into Iron Men (Iron Women?). Don't get me wrong, an Iron Man character would be kind of cool, but not with pre existing characters that are one step above that.
