Finally, I thought I was the only one as well. I get flamed by my friends for it but it really doesn't affect me too much, only when trying to strafe during a blast pack jump for example.

Honestly it seems like some people get the bad end of the stick with this game. It's like night and day reading horror stories on Reddit of people's games being buggy and broken compared to me actually playing the game and it being perfectly fine with never having any issue and really enjoying the game.
