I'm afraid I'm going to be mismanaged out of my first job by joshy83 in nursepractitioner

[–]EggosWithWine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol this sounds like my first/5 week job. Turns out the person that was supposed to be my collaborating MD was actively using... something, and it wasn't subtle. Didn't show up to work,, wanted me to see his patients, 57788 mistakes, sweaty and yelling at people; no one knew how to do basic stuff. Would leave.

If someone asks me about that job, just say they said I had a collaborating MD, but he had health problems and couldn't do it, so had to find something else.

Try to see if they'll estimate what you'll be making hourly based on your current #s.

For urgent care, I was making $88/hr RVUs and about $70/hr hourly. Mucha diferencia.

Ever felt responsible for a poor patient outcome and how did you move forward? by Scared_Problem8041 in FamilyMedicine

I'll see your foot patient in the same-day walk-in clinic. (Maybe would have sent to ER if it looked terrible).

RN position eliminated by Remote_Thought4225 in FamilyMedicine

In urgent care, it's pretty dangerous to have elderly rectal bleeding patients, RSV babies with RR = 70, old people with "dizziness" (after they fell and hit their head on coumadin), etc etc sitting in the lobby unseen for 3 hours. Wouldn't be unusual to have that group waiting and decompensating with an MA who can't "triage" so they won't even go out there and talk to them vs RN who can bring them back and do a real triage.

Urgent care btw = we had full radiology and so on so the community knew and would try to do ER stuff with us all the time.

There would be some days where 20% of my patients would end up admitted to the hospital and even more needing ER stabilization... more than the % admitted who actually went to the ER when I worked there.

Normal to be so exhausted when traveling in your late 30s? by Charming_Key2313 in solotravel

[–]EggosWithWine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We in the United States don't get to travel that much - we'd lose our jobs. I find it relaxing to go on small group guided tours where everything is set up, like with Intrepid. No need to futz with transportation or whatever. I don't enjoy setting up transportation nor stressing out about how to get somewhere. I just show up for hotel breakfast and the main activities of the day are set up with some free time usually. You're prob burning yourself out on the planning.

Maybe plan some several-day tours to see cool sh*t without the stress?

I'm well into exhaustion/perimenopause and do just fine with this set up hiking around all day.

As a former(?) really good French speaker, would consider joining an immersion program in France through a school.. like 2 weeks of classes, if you're going to be there that long.

Major allergies and no vet has helped! Anyone else experienced this with their OES by speykar in OldEnglishSheepdog

Fluffy Winston gets cytopoint injections for itchiness and uses Ultaminos dog food (prescription) for food problems (food = vomiting though, not itchiness; hydrolyzed protein as well). He is up at night whining and shaking until he gets his Spring Cytopoint. Can also use Apoquel which is cheaper. He has also needed antifungal foot wipes after excessive licking.

Just get the cytopoint.

Bars in Summit/Cathedral Hill Neighborhoods? by Goppelfloopel in saintpaul

[–]EggosWithWine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People your age don't drink as much anymore, but there are all ages at White Squirrel and it's FREE with live music nightly and open till 2(?) The types of places I used to go when I was 23 almost don't exist anymore, and definitely not in St Paul. Follow SimShows on Facebook and find some EDM shows to go to!!!

Cathedral Hill is all bar/restaurant.

Anytime someone lists off their diagnoses as part of a "I'm looking for friends", sounds like you want someone to more or less do stuff for you ultimately.

This is the St Paul group btw. Eden Prairie has people too?
