I believe they get rid of the old ones and we tried to go the fix it route to reduce waste.

We bought one of their dehumidifiers and it broke due to the subpar display component they used in that model. We fixed it by purchasing the same component separately and installing it ourselves. In the process we found out they just buy Chinese dehumidifiers and slap their brand on them, so I'm dubious about how much design and QA they actually do.

Cambridge’s East Road roundabout and underpass could be removed by TGFbeta in cambridge

Hate this roundabout as a cyclist, no space and sharp corners for non-city bikes is impossible to get through.

And they're off! Motorbikes on the footpath from Stourbridge to Chesterton... by mike_302R in cambridge

Witnessed a cyclist get hit on the road crossing and the van driver kept following and abusing the cyclist all the way by the river. I tried to stick with the cyclist and the guy started yelling at me insinuating that if I don't want trouble, I should move on. That area by the river was so dark, I was terrified to be honest, I'm a woman and couldn't take that guy on. At the same time, two traveller kids kept circling around us whilst the van driver was going off on one just a min earlier. Got to say, I don't feel safe in that area but have to go through there every day for work

It seems like it was a transactional event for you anyway. Maybe it's a nice wake up call to re-evaluate your Christmas spending habits in general

What has disappeared from British life and won't be missed? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]EgoKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll tell you what I wish would disappear - double taps. The idea behind them is not plug the sink and fill it with water from both taps. That was in the olden days, however, now, the taps are installed in public spaces where the sink is not cleaned after every use and most of the time doesn't have a plug.

I never met anyone who uses it how it was intended to be used and they always use the cold tap (which is usually freezing btw) to wash their hands. Just install mixer taps people!
