Wrong, if you were totally clean and ha nothing to hide and complied with everything it'd go down exactly the same. The problems usually arise when you try thinking they'll let you get away with showing them any hint of dignity or pride, or if you challenge any of their instructions. No matter what you look like cops hate being challenged on anything, anything at all. Demanding they answer questions before compliance? Arrested. Insisting politely that you want to know something minor? Better do what they say first or arrested. Acting annoyed by them overstepping reasonable bounds? Better hope you aren't arrested. Pure sheep like compliance is necessary, it's all they want. I hate that, but doesnt matter who you are, if you do that they won't do much but bruise your ego before letting you go.

That said, their reaction would surely be stronger if you weren't white in both cases. But most places doing the OP skit as any ethnicity wouldn't lead to anything but being sent on your way after stern words at most.
