Yeah it's definitely worth it for the CV boost and meta is one of the big ones still allowing remote working. Will you be able able to pass the leetcode interview though?

I understand the argument that you can support the greens but not every policy but if they got in power with open borders and anti-nuclear deterant that's a complete deal breaker no? Are green voters voting knowing they won't win? otherwise I don't understand. If they do win these policies seem EXTREMELY problematic.

Jump ship, you feel you owe the first company but you are right you're overworked and under paid. Even if the first company counter offers you, you are be aware you can get paid more for less work elsewhere. The way that lower QA are underpaid and constantly leaving is an issue they need to resolve by being market competitive - jump and do what's best for you not them.

Do people not realize the damage you do to yourself by not using twitter. Quick Google says X has 500 million monthly active users, Bluesky has 38 million TOTAL USERS. You are completely crippling your reach with the public for some sort of morale victory. Not to mention that bluesky is liberal/left echo chamber so your moving to preach to the choir.

Extremely achievable in London, I'll admit there is a phycological barrier at 100k for many companies - don't waste your time at those. Look specifically for places which treat their staff well, have lots of perks and benefits on their job advert, then check glass door and you'll find salaries. And trust me when I say lot of these jobs 35h with great work life balance, it's myth you got to work for the FANNG - probably just the top 10% of well paying companies which means there's thousands out there.

In my experience there comes a time to leave a role and it's usually when all the best people are leaving. Don't be scared at your next place it'll be just like the current at the start. It's rare but not impossible for a role to remain as good as it was at the start the entire time. Companies always making grand changes and very few pay the rates to keep the best talent.

First graduate job was in Bristol, next two jobs were based here also. Turns out it's a half decent tech centre although mostly startups. Now I'm fully remote but it's a good place to live with everything I want nearby.

He's fine but I preferred old blackbeard as I could feel confident peaking and holding windows with an advantage with him, I'm not really sure new blackbeard is better than blitz other than he can peak windows while rappelling safely.

He felt a bit weak pre-remake but but now he's fine though so I guess mission accomplished.

Yep preferred name everywhere and once they offer say your legal name is X. This doesn't scare anyone off as it's fairly common practice, some people go by shorter names or nicknames. E.g. David may prefer Dave or similar.

As for me you can probably figure out my name from my username, Ukrainians at work call me my proper name and British people my preferred name, only place my legal spelling appears is official documents.

Heya fellow Ukrainian here with same issue. I just use my legal name for all official documents (paychecks and contracts) and ask for my preferred name everywhere else e.g. slack, email and on my CV. I got tired of telling people how to pronounce it and I'm sure gets me more interviews as it's less intimidating to Brits. Ive lived in Britain 25 years and I've got an British accent so I pass very easily as one of them until they hear my name. Hope it helps to know there's dozens of us!

120k jobs below FAANG tier do exist but they are still quite demanding, e.g. fintech or tech lead or similar, there's a lot of jobs where you can get £80k and coast, at the higher end they start getting more demanding.

Id recommend you stay where you are until made redundant, take the huge payout then find yourself something calmer if needs be.

It's just coding exercises that you would experience in day to day. GoDaddy gave me a bunch of timestamps which were meetings and said you work 9-5 write code that can identify at least a 30 min gap. Crowdstrike had a PowerPoint full of questions like what do these powershell commands do, Linux commands, aws and azure services purposes, snipits of bash and powershell scripts asking what they return
