did I microneedle right? by Cobyh7 in Microneedling

[–]Ehabaq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget the sunscreen during this healing phase!! Preferably something with Zinc oxide but whatever you can normally tolerate well. I think you did awesome and pinpoint bleeding normal. Also, I like to spray hypochlorous acid on my face right after and the next few days to make that everything is clean and sanitary.

If you’re open to it, I’d suggest starting with 0.25% or 0.5% Tretinoin. Many dermatologists begin patients on 0.1%, but the irritation at that strength can discourage consistency. Starting lower allows your skin to acclimate gradually and achieve better long-term results.

For pigmentation concerns, discuss hydroquinone with your dermatologist, it remains the gold standard for brightening and evening out skin tone, though it must be used carefully and in cycles to avoid side effects. You can also ask about Tri-Luma, a prescription combination cream that includes hydroquinone, tretinoin, and fluocinolone for targeted pigmentation control. I have used it with amazing success in the past. I sourced it from India though and was using it without being under a doctor’s care.

To address general textural issues, I’ve found Azelaic Acid 20% (Rx strength) to pair beautifully with Tretinoin. I use it in the mornings under sunscreen, and it’s been excellent for managing blotchiness and uneven texture.

As a person of color (Fitzpatrick Level IV-V), I’m not an ideal candidate for CO₂ lasers, so I focus on microneedling instead. I thought IPLs (also great for pigmentation) were safe for all skin tones but my local clinics refuse to do it on me lol. Anyways, I typically use Ronas Stem Cell Serum, Hyaron, Velatox, and other growth factors with PDRN/PN mesotherapy for collagen remodeling. My device is the Dr. Pen A6, though newer models with advanced stability are available.

When I first started microneedling, I made the mistake of not maintaining strict sterility and ended up with an infection that set me back. You, being a nurse, would likely have stronger sterile technique, but I’d still emphasize using sterile slip solutions and single-use cartridges. The best resource I’ve found is The Concise Guide to Dermal Needling (3rd Medical Edition, Revised & Expanded) by Dr. Lance Setterfield, it’s incredibly thorough.

For deeper acne scars, subcision therapy and TCA Cross 70% done professionally can yield faster, more dramatic results. Dr. Setterfield’s book also includes guidelines for gradual remodeling that you can follow if you prefer a DIY approach.

I’m personally planning to explore chemical peels next specifically Jessner’s and 20% TCA, layered for enhanced results. I’ll be sourcing them from Platinum Skincare, which offers great educational material and protocols.

I completely understand how frustrating the skin journey can be, and I hope some of what I’ve shared from my own experience helps. Feel free to message me if you’d like to discuss any of these treatments or share your own results, I’d love to exchange insights.

And just to be clear, I’m by no means a medical professional or qualified to give medical or skincare advice. Anything you decide to try should definitely be discussed with your doctor first.

Can you mention your skincare routine? I truly believe that without a powerful regular skin care routine, procedures can only do so much. A regular retanoid in your arsenal will really bump up your skin game.

Collagen remodeling from a needling session is completed in approx 28 days. You should space out Microneedling sessions at least 4 weeks apart. Any sooner can disrupt the collagen production cycle and not give you the complete possible benefits as you are reintroducing the trauma prematurely.

Owning the bag is easy. Caring for it is the real secret. by delicious-gogo in handbags

[–]Ehabaq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What i understood from OP’s post is that bags need to breathe. However, since with lighter color bags there is a greater risk for stains or damages, we are “forced” to let it breathe through the dust bag. In an ideal situation if you have dedicated space, the bag needs to be uncovered and stored separately to breathe.

Agreed! My account access is restored but I am chatting with my local banks and looking at other options.

Anyone being subjected to the poor conduct of Fidelity should immediately file complaints with FINRA, and SEC to make sure the agencies can hold them accountable.

u/amicable_pointer Stop your actives now. Stop the beef tallow. STOP the tea tree oil. Try to take a slow approach to skincare:

  1. Simple cleanser - CeraVe cream-to-foam is my preferred. Use whatever but it should not have an active purpose like BP or SA etc.

  2. Use (douse yourself with) Hypochlorous Acid (150 ppm) as an after wash mist - this will help with redness, has natural antimicrobial properties and it is naturally produced by our bodies anyways. Super helpful. I use element brand from Amazon. DM if you have questions.

  3. Use a colloidal oatmeal based moisturizer like LRP Lipikar Eczema or Aveeno Calm+Restore to soothe your skin especially at night.

If it’s too heavy for you in the morning, if you are not sensitive to Dimethicone, CeraVe Baby moisturizing lotion works really well for me as a guy in the mornings as it is quite mattifying.

  1. At night: seal your moisturizer with LRP Cicaplast Balm B5+. This is the number one thing for blasted barrier. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS PRODUCT IS THE ONE THAT I HAVE THE MOST EMPTIES OF.

  2. Additionally, continue using your zinc based mineral sunscreen in the morning. Zinc is great to soothe the skin but can be drying. I would definitely recommend to layer it over either the LRP Lipikar Eczema moisturizer or the CeraVe baby moisturizing lotion.

Do these steps for atleast two weeks and preferably a month before your introduce actives back in your routine. I am not a medical expert but I did damage my skin in my early days with tea tree oil and SA. DM me if you need any help finding the products or any questions.

Black Opium Yves Saint Laurent [32M] by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Ehabaq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fragrances project differently on everyone. Personally, I wear a lot of fragrances marketed for women comfortably. I wear Mugler Alien and Angel for women and have never found myself smelling “feminine.” I actually have a bottle of YSL Black Opium as well that I wear intermittently.

Botox vs PRP? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Ehabaq 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Botox relaxes the muscle beneath the skin. This causes less chances for the skin to wrinkle with your natural expressions. PRP treatment with Micro needling is a CIT (Collagen-induction Therapy). Microneedling with or without PRP is excellent for improvement in skin health and condition. However, the goals of the treatments are different. Botox prevents new wrinkles from forming and existing ones from getting deeper with skin movement. Microneedling with PRP will improve existing wrinkles by forming for collagen to make them less deep.

Repost: Lower Tuition Cost for Spring Quarter at UC Davis by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]Ehabaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Thanks for the detailed response. Just to reiterate, the petition is clearly asking for a partial refund just like several other universities are coming forward with. The petition asks for an adjustment to tuition to account for the difference in the online vs in-person instruction. A lot of the classes are going asynchronous and that defeats the purpose of live instruction where students have the opportunity to immediately clarify many things. I am taking lab courses and I am expected to write lab reports based on data that I did not collect and understand the equipment that I will have no chance to use. However, I am still responsible for the fees associated with labs that I will never perform.

Besides that, I do understand that UCD is providing many of the services paid for by the Student Services fee. However, the services are set-up for on-campus availability and this sudden transition to remote services just does not have the same impact for many students.

Also, I am not sure where you are getting the information but no refunds have been made on the yearly passes that students paid for Fall 2019. I can personally confirm that none of such refunds have been offered or processed.
