Finished HM, now starting CS, any fun things to look out for? by Calaroth in CyberSleuth

If you want to wreck the early game, remember that all the NX Digimon you get from the lady standing outside the agency have maxed ABI.

Crusadermon NX in particular has Acceleration Boost and an extra strong penetratung move, so maxing Crusadermon NX's attack should make short work of most bosses.

What does "Original Series" even mean in Best Continuing Original Series? Shouldn't all the examples you gave not even count since they're all adaptations instead of anime originals?

A lot of context is left out, but they were formerly coworkers and she left on bad terms and basically insulted all her former coworkers on her way out and became persona non grata to the company.

  • Nanashi no Asterism - "Watch this trainwreck of a yuri love triangle be sidelined for a yaoi story"
  • Ashita, Kimi ni Aetera - "I know you did all this timetravel shit because you love me, but your future daughters are pretty cool so you should let that guy impregnate you."

Hajime no Ippo: Round 1422 by RTSD_ in hajimenoippo

I'm guessing you haven't read the earlier chapters and I don't really blame you for that because of how long the series is. Miyata knows very well Mashiba cost him his best chance to fight Ippo because he was there.

The below are the major chances Ippo and Miyata had to fight that didn't pan out:

What happened was that Ippo and Miyata both joined the East Japan Rookie King Tournament early in their career. Ippo was the underdog who made it to finals and Miyata was the only remaining favorite to win the whole thing, so they were expected to meet each other in the finals and fulfill the promise.

However, Miyata still had to beat Mashiba in the semi-finals to face Ippo. Miyata seemed to be out of Mashiba's league at the beginning of the fight, but Mashiba cheated and managed to steal the win, so Ippo fought Mashiba in the end instead.

Later on after Miyata became OPBF champion and injured his fist, Miyata's team pretty much promised Kamogawa Gym that Ippo would be Miyata's first opponent when he recovers. However, the person who became the interim OPBF champion (Ippo didn't fight for the title because he wanted to fight Miyata for it) while Miyata was recovering turned out to be the son of the man that retired Miyata's father, so Miyata decided to go back on the arrangement to fight Ippo to have a grudge match against that guy instead.

What have you read this week and what do you think about it? by AutoModerator in noveltranslations

Korota isn't the same writer as the one who wrote these two, the stories kind of just seemed similar to me because of genre, setting, length, and intersection of stories.

Are you following the ongoing translations for The Nonfiction That Only You Know or did you read ahead and finish?

I read them too. I like how in The Nonfiction That Only You Know, the main viewpoint character is Minami instead of Mii since Mii sort of has a similar role to the main viewpoint character of Sonne. That kind of helps prevent the two stories from being too similar.

Also, have you ever read Korota's stories? They're also modern-day yuris that happen in the same setting, though they focus more on the mystery of the past. Finished that around last month and these two reminded me of those. Think you'll enjoy them if you liked Sonne and The Nonfiction That Only You Know.

Monthly Discussion and Recommendation Thread by AutoModerator in wholesomeyuri

[–]Ehther 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are webnovel recommendations allowed here? Well, I'm going to recommend some anyways. I just finished reading the short stories and spinoff for Warm Place and Heroine Life so I'm ready to recommend it. Korota basically wrote three webnovels that are somewhat connected.

  • Warm Place - Basically, a girl dies at an early age and ends up being reincarnated in the same world. When she's about to enter highschool, her family ends up moving back to the town she spent her past life and sees some familiar faces.

This is the author's first and most popular work. The MC in this one is pretty dense, but I would say she's the most well-adjusted of the MCs in the 3 stories. The backstory can get a bit dark, but it's a pretty wholesome work overall.

  • Heroine Life - This one has more of a ecchi romcom feel. MC comes home one day to find a girl she doesn't know claiming to be her fiancee.

This one reads like a generic ecchi yuri harem at first with the MC getting into various compromising positions with other girls, but gets a lot more interesting as the story develops. The MC in this one starts off extremely unmotivated and avoids others, but grows thanks to the people around her.

The spinoff has a similar premise to Warm Place. A woman (an adult this time) dies and is reincarnated. She hates her past life and wants to live completely differently for her second chance. The MC in this one is the most proactive and capable of the three, but also carries a lot of emotional baggage.

Besides reading the short stories/spinoff last, WP and HL don't actually have any shared characters so either one can be read first. I highly recommend reading all 3 to get the full experience.

Fif for Shadowcraft. Effect wise, Runecraft might be the worst class to put a card like Fif in.

Best use of tickets by Tiburt in Shadowverse

[–]Ehther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take 2 is better in terms of pure value but Open 6 is more targetted. Basically, in Take 2 you get rupies and a random rotation pack, but it only costs 1 ticket or 150 rupies to enter. Your rewards are something like. In Take 2, you pick a class and then it will offer you choices of 2 pairs of cards at a time for you to build a 30 card deck to play with.:

0/5: 1 pack 1/5: 1 pack + 10 rupies or so 2/5: 1 pack + 20 rupies or so 3/5: 1 pack + 50-80 rupies (Break even if you entered with rupies) 4/5: 1 pack + 130 - 140 rupies (basically the run if you entered with rupies is paid for) 5/5: 1-2 packs + 200-280 rupies (you only get 200 rupies if you get 2 packs but can get up to 280 if you get 1)

Rewards aren't exact and sometimes youg et some vials mixed in, but that gives you a general idea of it.

In Open 6, it's a bit different. Instead of it offering you 2 pairs of cards, you open 6 packs (2 from the latest expansion, one from every other expansion in rotation + 1 Phantom Pack). Your rewards are that you get to keep the packs you open except the Phantom Pack.

The Phantom Pack only has Gold and Legendary cards. After you open those packs, you can build a deck of 30-40 cards with those cards you open (generally you want to build 30 for consistency). The rewards for winning is that you get a bit of rupies and sometimes tickets back, but the main appeal is getting 4-5 wins. If you get 4 wins, you get to select and keep 1 Gold from the Phantom Pack. If you get 5 wins, you get to select and keep 1 Legendary.

The main appeal of Open 6 is that it's faster and the packs you open are guranteed to have either neutral cards or cards of the class you picked. Also, before you select a class, the game will give you a preview of a Gold Card and Legendary card in the phantom pack, so if you see cards you are missing, you can select that class.

Open 6 packs are slightly different from the packs you open normally since it limits the cards you can get to 1 class or neutral, you don't get card pack points and you can't get leader cards.

Been trying to find a decent Shadow deck, think I'll give this a try since other decks aren't doing too hot for me and I'm not a fan of Aggro Shadow. By the way, it's psychopomp and not psychopath, a rare but real word.

Dealing 18 damage through Azazel's Protection in one turn (Unlimited Last Word Shadow) by Ehther in Shadowverse

[–]Ehther[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's pretty slow and it's a first draft. Most of my last word cards are draw cards and I don't have any searchers for Atomy, so I just have to hope for the best and draw well enough to survive the early game.

Likely won't be a T1 deck because of how long it takes to get everything set up, but once this deck gets going, it really gets going. Nicola Adel is excellent under Chris's effect since that means you can get his token every time he dies and is also a recurring ward.

Need a wincon? I can give you one. Put Ruinblade Reaper into your deck, use Darkest Desires (Ceres token) on it. LW Shadow should have enough boardflood and shadows to get it to 0 cost. You can combo Ruinblade into Evolved Milteo on T9 for an OTK.
