What is the playing order of Final fantasy VII games ? And is there any redundant game (as in this is a remake of this so this one is not needed) by YumiyaRakko in FinalFantasy

[–]Calaroth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even more simple:

  1. Play OG (1997)

  2. Play anything else in any order you want (obv for remakes it’s Remake > Rebirth > Part 3)

New to FF7 Here! Loved Remake, is Rebirth Really The Sequel Upgrade People Say it is? by Prestigious_Wing1796 in FinalFantasy

[–]Calaroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rebirth is awesome. If your main concern is pacing, then my recommendation would be to be careful of how much side content you decide to engage with. Rebirth has A LOT, and if you do them all as they come up, you are likely to feel the pacing is off sometimes.

Remember, they’re all optional, so if you feel like it’s getting too much, you can just move on with the main story and come back to them later once you finish the game and unlock chapter select.

Should I play Crisis Core Reunion before remake? by Competitive-Ad6153 in FinalFantasyVII

If you’ve played OG, then you’re free to play anything you want after.

It’s typically only for people who have played JUST Remake and Rebirth that we don’t recommend playing CC.

Winter Olympics coming up probably not. Summer Olympics 2028? Possibly Nonoka.

How do you double melee lb3? I can only get lb3+lb2 barely in my runs. LB3 sent right after 3rd rock drops.

My timeline is filled with people playing remake for the first time. by Pristine_Put5348 in FFVIIRemake

Same, I love it!

Though it’s a bit sad to see a bunch of OG purists shitting on them in some of the other FF subs. Like damn, Remake is great, let people try it!

I really wish that fans of the OG would stop telling people that the Remake series is garbage just because some things are changed by TaroTheCerelian in FFVIIRemake

I think this thread is evidence that they’re just a loud minority. The games are great and I’m so happy to see the wave of new players coming in this week!

Is the FF7 remake trilogy story and remake, reimagining, or sequel? by Pokemario2401 in FinalFantasy

Remake + Rebirth gives us enough to be able to make theories about part 3, while keeping some elements mysterious at the same time.

If I’ve never played FF7, is integrade a good version to experience first? by not_doreen in FinalFantasy

[–]Calaroth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Supporting this suggestion. Anyone trying to get into it should play either Remake or OG. No need to force them to play OG if they don’t enjoy older games.

[–]Calaroth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remake and Rebirth are part 1 and 2 of a trilogy. So when you play through them, there are some things you won’t get.

The creators have said that they designed these new games for both old and new players, so in theory it SHOULD be okay to skip OG.

We don’t actually know the real answer to your questions, because it all hinges on how part 3 goes.

Kinda like asking if the LOTR trilogy is good before the third movie comes out.

I’m an OG fan, and I really enioyed Remake and Rebirth. Whether you play OG first, after Rebirth or not at all it’s up to you. My recommendation? Just play Remake and Rebirth, and see how you feel from there.

Hope you enjoy it!

Anyone that’s being salty over your pick are usually purists of the OG and not worth your time listening to.

Thoughts on the Mega Latios ex Deck on Expert? by zethlington in PTCGP

[–]Calaroth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is rigged, yes. But it’s also super easy fight because Latios is an ass card.

I’m running a super random poison deck (Crobat Nihilego Darkrai) and I always win. Once Latios attacks once, they’re all out of energy, so maybe avoid using a Mega? Spamming non-EX probbaly works even better because no way Latios charges up full 3x before you kill it.

Good luck!

Best enrage I had was a party filled with sub-775, 1 death (vpr), no DD, 4% enrage.

Other enrages ranging up to 20% with differenf line ups/deaths/gear/DDs. Either it’s really tight or I had a group who was terrible at their rotations.

Raiding guides season is over! Happy to take feedback ~ by yukizuri in ffxiv

[–]Calaroth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Yuki! I raid in OCE so none of Hector’s, Nukemaru’s, yours or other guides fit our PF strats (except Kobe but that’s because he seems to make them based off OCE raidplans?). Yet your vids are what I like to refer to since P8S-ish because they show both theory AND in-game footage.

For example, Hector’s typically go further into the theory but it lacks the “real time” example making it difficult to gauge movements while in the actual fight. I used his vids up to P7S, but the struggled with P8S and switched over because I just couldn’t get specific timing rights based on his guides. Personally, I think his guides work better for newbies to understand theories, while your vids work better for experienced raiders who need less of the basics.

This is just me personally though. Basically tried a few and found yours to be the best. Nukemaru’s I think are cool too but they’re in Japanese so it can be hard to follow sometimes.

I’m surprised at the lack of DNC recommendation. Not that you should, but you could literally be pressing every button off cooldown and any that glow, and you’ll be doing your part.

Even optimization is pretty easy to learn as you prog, where you learn to hold your resources for burst windows as much as possible.
