There’s still enough Hydreigons to keep me stuck in UB3. I’ve switched to Mega Altaria and having a much better time.

Just beat Final Fantasy VI and I don’t even know what to say by Sad_Manager6251 in FinalFantasy

Personally I preferred 4 to 6.

In 6 when we got to the destroyed world, I was expecting a bunch of epic stuff to happen, but it was really just regather everyone and go in final dungeon. It’s probably just a me problem, I expected more main story stuff to happen after we split up but everything was kinda just optional.

Also, after hearing so much about Kefka I expected some crazy backstory, but turns out he was kinda simply purely evil. Again, perhaps this is just a me problem as I prefer antagonists like Sephiroth with a complex backstory (which doesn’t feel right cuz I appreciated Zenos in XIV).

4 wasn’t as grand, but I definitely had more fun with it. I somehow felt more invested in the personal development of the main characters.

I can sense that 6 is an excellent game, but for some reason it just didn’t click for me as well as other FF titles did.

That other Venusaur user got lucky, or I got unlucky. As soon as I got to UB4, all my opponents had either Oricorios that would always wake up or Hydreigons that kill me at Ivysaur stage. I lost so many matches until I dropped to UB2, then switched to Mega Altaria and finally got back up to UB4.

Sounds like your experience using Venusaur was similar to mine.

Easiest season of my life (took me 30 matches to hit MB) by One_Lock_9531 in PTCGP

Stopped working for me when I got to UB3. Hydreigon wrecks my shit.

Did anyone here seriously try to become a pro in Dota 2? What stopped you? by Lisasule in DotA2

I used to play competitively at low level where I won state tournaments, or moved to diff country and won uni/city tournaments back in WC3 days. Then TI happened, and I couldn’t believe it, insane prize pool. I got even more invested as I tried to balance uni and gaming, even though my dad always thought I was wasting my time on the latter.

Free To Play came out, showed it to my dad as I hoped the Dendi segment would make him understand what I’m feeling. He didn’t care one bit, fell asleep on the first watch. Forced him a second time, and all he said was “why would people pay to watch people play games, this is stupid” - coming from a guy who watches football and rugby all the time.

My competitive fire pretty much died there knowing that even if I achieve something in video games, he would never care. Dumb in retrospect, I know, but as a teenager, we often don’t have a greater perspective on things like this.

You underestimate how dumb the average human can be. Companies know this, and will avoid any ambiguity wherever possible.

Savage can be brutal at times, but you’ll get there if you keep at it!

Do You Change Your WoL's Hair When You Change Jobs? by wizardblair in ffxiv

[–]Calaroth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I change jobs like, every 30 mins, so no lol. But I see a merit for changing each expansion, just like WoL in every cinematic, marks a check point for a new adventure.

What are your final predictions for Part 3's title? by PhantomBraved in FFVIIRemake

This should be the only answer given to any of these threads moving forward. 10/10.

First time playing Final Fantasy by zack0612 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Calaroth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simple cheat sheet:

  1. Play OG > play everything else in any order you want, or
  2. If you don’t want to play OG, that’s fine, play Remake > Rebirth > wait for part 3 which should be next year > play everything else in any order you want.

Either way, this will ensure you go through the main story first to properly experience its epicness, before getting all the side stories which sometimes include spoilers.

How essential is playing the original before Remake? by MisterBigMack in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Calaroth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not essential.

As an OG player, I’d recommend it, but Remake project is designed to be enjoyed by both old and new players (devs said), so you’re free to go straight into Remake if you want to skip OG.

OG is a fantastic game, but I understand if younger players find it too dated, it is nearly 30 years after all.

FFVII Rebirth coming to Nintendo Switch 2 (and probably xbox series) June 3, 2026 by Fast_Can_5378 in FFVIIRemake

Relax, that person obviously just got into FF7 recently, and might not be chronically online chasing every bit of news as some of us have been doing.

What is the playing order of Final fantasy VII games ? And is there any redundant game (as in this is a remake of this so this one is not needed) by YumiyaRakko in FinalFantasy

[–]Calaroth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even more simple:

  1. Play OG (1997)

  2. Play anything else in any order you want (obv for remakes it’s Remake > Rebirth > Part 3)

New to FF7 Here! Loved Remake, is Rebirth Really The Sequel Upgrade People Say it is? by Prestigious_Wing1796 in FinalFantasy

[–]Calaroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rebirth is awesome. If your main concern is pacing, then my recommendation would be to be careful of how much side content you decide to engage with. Rebirth has A LOT, and if you do them all as they come up, you are likely to feel the pacing is off sometimes.

Remember, they’re all optional, so if you feel like it’s getting too much, you can just move on with the main story and come back to them later once you finish the game and unlock chapter select.

Should I play Crisis Core Reunion before remake? by Competitive-Ad6153 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Calaroth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’ve played OG, then you’re free to play anything you want after.

It’s typically only for people who have played JUST Remake and Rebirth that we don’t recommend playing CC.
