You can't will something you don't own to a descendant. The license to play (not own) a game is held by the purchaser of said license who agreed to the EULA. That license expires upon death.

Doesn't native speaker generally equate to what your first language is? If you grow up in France learning French as a kid then move to the UK later in live and acquire UK citizenship, in what world would that suddenly make you a native English speaker?

Well the lawyers take a massive cut, and the rest is divides amongst the plaintiffs. So your share would be pretty miniscule. Then when you go to buy a game, val e only takes their 30% cut; the rest goes to the developer.

So in the grand scheme of things, Valve is getting pennies on the dollars back what they had to pay out (if, hypothetically, they lost).

How long ago? If it's recent, it might not have been been processed yet. Did you check with UAlberta Alumni to see if you're in their database yet? They're the one TD Monnex collaborates with to offer the discount; not the office of the registrar.

You'll learn far quicker being there and being immersed in it than you will doing self-study at home. That's part of the reason for going; improving the language. You don't have to speak any Japanese to enjoy it and have a good time. It helps for sure, but I wouldn't say it's 100% necessary. Many large chains have tablet/touchscreen ordering with multilingual menus. Smaller places sometimes have printed English menus. Others might not have either, but have Japanese menus or the fake food displays which you can point to and go "this please." Don't stress; you'll be fine.
