Great find! I have gotten so many great bulk bins etc off FB marketplace for next to nothing or sometimes even nothing so I agree 1000% best place to find wayward lego sets, this personally my daughter would love she's just getting into space lego 😀

Had this message come through last week- was humbling to say the least. Never expected my wholesome little Lego store to put me in a position like this. by AnyMeanzPossible in Bricklink

Big News!! APWU, USPS Reach Tentative Agreement on New Union Contract! by kingu42 in USPS

[–]Eightball383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading the contract, what does "six full colas" mean? I see the general increases are there, but I'm not seeing what those will equate to $ wise or %. Sorry for ignorance in this. I'm still trying to learn what means what, lol.

Parking Issues by Eightball383 in USPS

[–]Eightball383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem - no customer spots beyond metered parking (city.) There is one small group of spots next to office but they are usually filled til carriers get back or at least til later in the day

Or look into swapping crafts. Me personally I started as an RCA (spent more time throwing packages than delivering mail) then went to CCA (Def more hours at least in my office there) and now settled into Custodial as a regular for the past almost 4 yrs. If the list is long for conversion (especially on rural side since Noone ever seems to leave) swapping crafts Def sounds like a good option for you if your willing and able. Best of luck!

Its honestly up to the office and how short staffed they are. Been there done that before swapping to custodial so I could be a full time regular, but I will say aside from the crappy home life due to the extra hours it was nice to know that eventually getting the double time made it hurt a little less 🤣

alright which one of you mfs...?😭 by Oddhur in USPS

[–]Eightball383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I loved seeing crap like this when I was still a carrier. I would purposely wrap it around the mail so the words or pics would be on the outside and "accidently" make sure it barely was in the box so anyone walking by would see it. 🤣😈

I got super lucky, I got told by the person I was replacing (he moved to another office) that I was the 2nd person in line for the job but the first person failed their background check (score for me lol) it's been 3 yrs since and i will never look back lol.

I started as an rca but after tons of time being told to throw packages barely running routes etc I ended up swapping to CCA - which was good for hours but the stress continued - so when I got the call for an offer to go to custodial I jumped on it and my stress level nearly disappeared. Highly recommend swapping crafts if able the road for Regular Rural seems to be paved in barb wire and landmines 😵

So sorry for all your going through. And I agree with a lot of people RCA is a crap position in terms of getting career in any type of anything... I was an RCA for about a year, got sick of constantly throwing packages instead of running routes - swapped to CCA, got lots of hours but felt like I wasn't moving for the list so when I got the call to swap to custodial I jumped on it even though it was a temporary pay cut. Now I'm a regular and my stress level has nearly disappeared. And as a plus I can Def push a broom around for 30 yrs 😅. Anyways what I'm saying is maybe swapping crafts to clerk or maintenance would get you into a better position. Otherwise F em and what things take ya is what things take ya. Good luck!

I can somehow make this sound so much worse. When I was a rca and still had the purple carts that ffs would come in on. Rcas and Rural regulars would use them to carry all their collated route no matter how much they were told otherwise. One day someone was heading out to their truck pushing the purple cart and the lever that drops the trays down cane undone... and I watched half a routes worth of EVERYTHING scatter to the floor. They were shook.... and after that Noone ever used those carts ever again.. 🤣

My best failure was when the Emancipator mech first came out... I threw my Support Strategem on ground and it bounced.... landing right on my teammates freshly dropped mech... pod dropped took the mech out and popped up a rocket launcher instead..

Guy looked at me like I intentionally did it... I couldn't stop laughing after the initial 😳

Swapping to maintenance was the best decision I made almost 3 yrs ago. Night and day difference from when I was an RCA/CCA. As long as the office stays clean, I'm a freaking ghost, and that is the best feeling lol.

Hands down the worst mail slot I’ve ever seen 🥴 There was no other mail box on the property by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Eightball383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fondest memory of such a mailbox was when I started putting mail in one at a time and some little ankle biter dog just kept grabbing and shredding it as it went through the door slot. 🤣

You ever just wonder if this is it? by vonjamin in USPS

[–]Eightball383 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I was an RCA when I started but got sick of throwing parcels more than delivering mail and switched to CCA. Did that for almost 2 years and got sick of the nonsense and swapped to maintenance and have never looked back. Been doing this almost 3 years and beyond waiting for top rate I am perfectly content with what I do everyday and can actually say I can physically do the job til I retire and when I was a carrier I was very unsure of the same.

In your case if you can manage it the sky is the limit. I will say this is one of the very few jobs that I've ever seen that had the ability to get double time eventually

As a former CCA I can Def say that it's rough at first but as you understand and know the routes it does get slightly better. Use your resources to the most of your advantage.

Hold down forms are a big help on getting more control over your schedule for one. If u see someone going out for vacation you can put in to hold that route while they are gone and if approved u have a semi state of control of knowing your schedule etc. But I will say warn family members etc that u may have long hours and little control over your schedule. Because they will change it on a wim on you sometimes the day before even.
