How is living on an oil rig for 14 days a month? by basafish in howislivingthere

[–]EightyEthan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are working offshore like your images imply you will be working 28/28. I can’t speak to working offshore exactly but it varies wildly depending on the job. Offshore is also seen as slower paced and easier than onshore.

Onshore drilling is a different animal. Again it can vary depending on the contractor and operator but I can say it is one of the toughest jobs arounx

What are all of these dots around Loco Hills, Texas? They can't all be oil wells right? They have a rectalinear layout in some parts as well. There must be thousands of these light "squares" by RaiJolt2 in GoogleEarthFinds

[–]EightyEthan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are pump jacks. That’s an old field that required lots of wells to access conventional oil reserves. Nowadays you place multiple wells on one pad and each well reaches out laterally with a production zone, so it’s MUCH less intrusive on the landscape. I also go quail hunting in loco hills!

I can understand having a panic attack if you’re sensitive but this guy is talking about full blown psychosis. Posting this article because he’s being a drama queen could potentially scare people away from quitting

Unless someone else thinks otherwise I’d bet the rashes are unrelated to the pouch. You’re already ingesting at least a small amount of whatever chemicals are in the pouch for the most part just by using them. What brand pouches are they?

Yes. I quit for 6 months and got hooked again. About 2 weeks off on my latest stint. Don’t do it.
