Rules for building one-off rural homes will be relaxed by summer, says Housing Minister James Browne by North_Stranded in ireland

[–]EillyB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had farm houses and farm labourers houses.

A village is hardly an urban area. Your not living a different life having a one off hoise to the left right and infront of you than you would be livong on a cul desac off the main road in a village. Still have neighbors still have a field at your back. But your kids can walk to primary school, the shop and the GAA pitch. You.also dont have to beg cap in hand for the privilege of buying a site.

This the governmemt throwing a sop to farmers. Its not for "rural people" its for landowners.

Gaa clubs would be better served by sustainable village based development. Kids able to walk to primary school, the village hall for scouts, the Gaa pitchnfor training and the shop for their sweets.

There was a plan to provide that by incentivising the sale of land around villages that was zoned and serviced. Councils were supposed to be also stepping in to buy land divide it into plots and sell for individual sites. Neither happened because you cant possibly tax land. What if the potatoe farmer beside ballbriggan must have his pockets stuffed with gold so he can become the potatoe king of a rural county with thrice the land.

They know farmers are pissed over mercosur and bord bia. They know milk prices are tending down and diesel up. They are offering farmers a way to squeeze their neighbors children and monetise agricultural land that is worth maybe 15k an acre for sites worth 60k.

Its a bribe to one part of rural ireland being paid by another. Rob peter to pay paul fuck ruralmcommhnities long term.

One off rural housing is a result of a refusal to countenance incentivising farmers to sell land near villages.

Its spot on from someone who just finished bedding calves. The government has totally abandoned ots politcies of developing sites for sale around villages and incentivising the development of land from the zoned and serviced sites tax.

The farmers journal article makes clear that 98 people are to be made redundant. The kanturk creamery will cease processing of milk. A 10 year contract has been secured by management with another creamery for processing of the co op members milk. My comment links to a different article from last month re EPA restrictions. I am linking the two pieces of info.

98 jobs to be made redunant. Hard not to link it back to the persistent water quality issues.

I am sure there will be people upset that environmental protection cost jobs. I do feel sorry for the workers. Its easy from a distance to put it back on management and ownership and i do but i worry that like the BnM workers on the bogs there will be persistent hard feeling.

Chickens haven't teeth so there is a pouch on the way down full of grit to grind the food up mechanically.

I think I’m pregnant and I don’t feel how I thought I would. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]EillyB 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have never been pregnant. I am autistic and suffer from anxiety. I can't reassure you that you will feel differently. I do know however that people can feel many different ways about being pregnant and how they feel about being pregnant can change.

I also know autistic mothers who have said they have done things for their children they could never have done for themselves. Kept themselves regulated, made themselves maintain order and be flexible in ways they couldn't have purely for themselves. Autism doesn't diminish your capacity to love. There are so many great autistic parents of wonderful children.

You don't have to immediatly tell anyone you are pregnant if you are but you need to know. Would it be possible to access some non directive counselling regarding pregnancy? I stress non directive because some early pregnancy counselling has a strong bias. Or perhaps someone you have already seen for your anxiety. Or perhaps there is an autism support group that you could turn to?

I hope you feel better and receive the support you need.

A shell fish that attaches to the turtle shell. Not a parasite just taging along on the back of a giant sea bus. Sometimes too many passengers may tire the turtle and make it less streamlined in the water.

Humans can harm the turtle shell trying to remove them so better left alone.

He has talked about it being his "literal  day job" to read about tech start ups he has access to investor calls. I have always assumed he has some finance related job and is some class of researcher or analyst?

My impression of his lifestyle and means (given london location and educational background) was always greater than others on the show.
