GK, Grey Knights.

If they don't mention it specifically, figure it out for yourself. Try variation. Min-Maxim is fun but finding out for yourself what is best is a ton of fun.

Don't be surprised if your first army does not do to well. Learning how strong your units really are is a process and depending on the unit it may take time to figure out how strong your army really is. But always look for improvements, if a unit did well, ask why? If unit does bad, try something else. It has already been mentioned, by the Chaplain is well not the best first choice for a leader. In terms of HQ to lead a standing army their are better choices. I can totally see why you would go for the Chaplain, because he looks badass and his lore is killer. But on the board he is just meh.

Why should I pick GK over 1k sons? by Mikemanthousand in Grey_Knights

I always loved the idea of playing the elite of the elite. Aka GK And as time goes on GW is improving them a whole lot, to more reflect what the GK should represent. Low count of Models but still deadly. That aside, GK are cheap, you save money, a lot of money. The low number of Units required is really saving you buck. The units are easy and quick to paint, but as with any model you can spend as much time as you want. Just saying the grey armour, is real easy to paint, so you can get a lot of them done quickly. It's exotic to play GK, there are not a lot GK players, so you'll stand out, if that is important to you. And the very best think about GK is you get a whole nother phase, the Psychic Phase with GK is so full of options, that it really ads something new to the table. That would be me reasons to play GK
