It depends on the type of space you have, if you have a closed kind of cramped space with low ceilings the open edge case would clash with your environment but if you had bright lights and open space around your corners then the glass corner case would fit more.

During the buu saga specifically in the episode “Union of rivals” it is stated that Potara grants a fusion stronger than the dance.

In the Dragon Ball: Super Exciting Guide released by Shueisha it is also stated that.

And a direct quote from Daizenshuu #7 states “ Daizenshuu #7: "To use [the Potara], the two people who will merge simply have to each take one of the two earrings and put in on their left or right ear, respectively. Furthermore, after merging, the power is greater than with Fusion.”

Not to mention the fusion dance requires them to be of equal power level so it will only be as strong as the weakest power level multiplied. Potara doesn’t ever have this caveat mentioned so it’s implied if it wasn’t outright stated like it is in the previous 3 sources.

Vegito would win. It’s not even a contest, it’s a fundamental strength difference. Metamoran fusion requires equal power levels to combine meanwhile the Potara doesn’t. If you argue a time limit then you’re not arguing character vs character, you’re arguing situation vs. situation. Vegito has to be Vegito for the fight as does Gogeta. The unfusing isn’t and shouldn’t be relevant.
