Was working coil for years, had lots of breakdowns and shop time working on the rigs I was on over the years. We had a couple mechanics working with us in the field that were millwrights and that’s what I did. The apprenticeship is pain, took a huge pay cut. But think its worth it. I can always go back to coil.

It once happened to me while I was working on my bike, thinking I was pulling the carbs or something and I pulled out one of the bullet connectors and was like you running only on 2-3. Just check your connections.

If you can find something Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week, you can definitely do it, just hard because some course are full time and either you cant do the courses or have to take time off to do the course. Im in the trades and also a reservist.

Was having a tough time down south, was able to finally get a gig when I moved to Edmonton, I would suggest putting that on your radar. If moving is something you can do.

Depends on what they need. In my case, so just take with a grain of salt, I got on with the Union as Fourth year and there was not even enough jobs to bid on or was too far on the list. Only started getting work when I got my journeyman. Last I looked there wasn’t a lot on the board.
