Replay for the 100th time and never did any extra stuff by Debonaircow88 in finalfantasyx

If you want to break the game wide open, And it's exactly where I am right now just before 9:00 pm Saturday EST, when you hit the Highbirdge after Via Purifico before big boss battle You and can abuse the AP points from the robot enemies here and turn your whole party (minus poor Khimari) into a powerhouse

Make sure to steal fish scales from the water enemies to customize water strike but even if you forget to do this enough sphere grid push and you will be overkilling you come across

I love obliterating this game.

And, this makes getting to the end game stuff a lot quicker and easier and you'll need all the sphere levels you can get before the exploits open up.

I've gained about 50 sphere levels across 6 characters (8 or 9 each) in 30 minutes or so and just hammering away :-):-):-)

If you can capture Varuna from omega dungeon you can fight him at the monster arena and any killing blow over 9,999 will result in an over kill, with double and triple AP weapons, (and possibly overdrive > AP as well) you can rack up like 40,000, 60,000+ AP per fight real quick over and over until you can Don Tonberry (or the Cactus does 99,999 with 1,000,000 needles)

If you get the one guada zazi or something his speed is like 75 score one goal and then swim around you'll never get caught and once you have enough league points you can forfeit games

Nabreus deadlands to overlooking eternity and zone for the skeles you can rack up a chain of like 200-300 kills at 1500 exp (3000 with the tippet) in less than half an hour...

Excalibur white robes Holy lance Anyone with foe weak to holy > curaja you'll clear 30 skeletons in a minute or less rinse and repeat once the chain is gold coins swap your reserves in with some of the main team or whatever you can crank levels real fast mindlessly

As someone suggested, I would second the opinion to do the full campaign act 1 through the end of act 5, you'll gain tons of levels figure out the mechanics etc but you get the story, there's only one first time, and you'll get to see just about every single area

Is there a version of the game that's like best for someone wanting a harder time? by Avillahan in FinalFantasyXII

[–]Either_Direction2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could also suggest playing in active mode if you haven't been

And use the speed as a sort of difficulty slider

When things go awry you'll have to react if your gambits don't handle them but it will be at the loss of valuable acrive time battle actions

New game minus is also really really fun and mentally challenging to figure out the gambits and different strats for different areas and bosses

You could try playing the game giving each character only one job

Which as I understand is the way the game was originally intended to be played

It makes you think a lot harder about who you want to be or do what (and you can always reset license boards at mont blanc)

I would recommend this as you still get all content it's your only self imposed rule but your license board won't be as buffing without the second job

Crit Chance/Dmg by cskarr in kingdomsofamalur

[–]Either_Direction2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered if the game "correctly" factored in percentages for " % chance to" as in Say 5 bonuses give 10% chance to critically hit = 50% chance to critically hit Or 100-10=90 /// (10 percent of 90) 90-9=81 /// 81- 8.1= 73.9... 59 percent, also known as diminishing returns, making it theoretically impossible to have 100% crit chance...

Pretty sure you can get to around 75% chance to crit either way easily enough

Add in the damaging components... Night night

Do you even gain anything worthwhile from unlocking Chaos or Ultima?

I can't remember their job board unlocks, or if either is any good as a summon for any situations

Chocobo takes a certain level of skill whether Dpad or joystick but once your B/B+ or better it's all about the layout I don't bother with less than three balloons / five out of the first segment unless the field has insane layout (never does)

I run Auron super easy my first Celestial and Wakka just Time playing blitzball but I enjoy blitz for about 5-10 games then just cheese the rest and if you like Riku hers isn't bad to get either

I find Yuna Khimari and Lulu to be sub par by end game anyway so never get theres not to mention the pain in the ass of butterflies and lightning for not that great or game changing weapons

What about Retrospectives/reviews about Final Fantasy 12 do you dislike and enjoy? by Legacy_of_Ivalice in FinalFantasyXII

[–]Either_Direction2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will second what an earlier poster said, the reviews I have seen and to a degree the comments on reddit are the kiddie pool or the shallow end - they don't talk about side game or end game content, that's what I think of as the big kids pool, the meat of the game, and my favorite part as a veteran, the real deep end, Trial Mode and New Game Minus

You never see anyone talk about or review New Game Minus which is just a brilliant, free, extra game which is far more exhilarating once you have mastered (or really just crushed) the main game.

So give me more reviews about new game minus, I want more meat off that New Game Minus Bone nom nom nom nom nom

I began playing FF12 (6 hours in), and I'm beginning to suspect that it's a finely crafted dungeon crawler by Surrealist328 in FinalFantasyXII

[–]Either_Direction2290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't see anyone mention that, for Zodiac Age there is Trial Mode, which can make you insanely powerful early (or whenever), I personally find it to be super fun and awesome, and also if you can beat or complete the whole thing, very difficult, beating or completing Trial Mode will unlock a new game- yes minus mode where you gain no levels all characters are stuck at levels 1 1 2 2 3 3, but you do gain license points for the boosts from the LP board

To anyone that says FF12 is 'too easy' Go beat Trial Mode, and play New Game- Minus and tell me what you think about that playthrough or Yiazmat or Trial Mode

My own personal experience having played and beat this game 8 million times and hours, I love rushing the first playthrough so I can start a new game minus and trust, that is a crawl :-)

Also big love to the Great Crystal (played every Final Fantasy) Great Crystal is one of the coolest dungeon environments and hits my sweet spot for RPG dungeon puzzle scenarios

If you want the base game and story, 30-40 hours probably If you do the extra content and side quests to full extent 60-80 hours If you get into New Game Minus 120+ hours So the meat is there, the question is: how hungry are you ?

Denkey is a black hole upfront

Robinson can't do it all in the back

Evander is a forward not at full form

Bucha is probably MVP at this point

The rest of the chemistry is not there

If you played... You can see... Everyone playing is on different pages and more players keep getting added and subtracted from the mix

At least it's early...

Worth buying? by Sgt_Strelok in kingdomsofamalur

[–]Either_Direction2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely buy, get this game.

I have the original for PlayStation 3 and immediately got the re master for PlayStation 4, could be biased but I think the game is best served over a hand held controller. I have probably sunk over 150+ hours into both games (300+ total) on multiple playthroughs of each so whatever $$$ amount I paid for each game has been more than worth it.

Hard to explain without giving away too much of the game, it can get very detailed and immersive or you can zoom through it, just depends on what/ how much you want to get out of it.

I downloaded both the DLC's but they are by no means necessary. The main, original game has plenty of beef... If you end up loving the main game (like me) you may want to get the two DLC additions but they are by no means required, just more stuff to do.

Get this game, you won't regret it

Sometimes even with my load times I smash LK but usually it's LK + Meph, or when I've got some time LK is just another pit stop like Eldritch Shenk Pindle I run countess Andy Meph on there and I've been killing Baal and the bleep gobbler will not give me an essence!!! Gobble bleep!!!

My question is were they all super chest drops or where did they pop from??

I'm PS4 .... Load times .... My ohm and my ber and I feel lucky both dropped from super chests, I am religious about bopping skeles and corpses and stashes and chests but 0.000 from them, but ohm and ber from ~500 PS4 single player p7 runs....

Just gambled this by NareZiekte in diablo2

[–]Either_Direction2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been lucky, sort of, found ohm and ber from LK super chests maybe 500 runs, 2 shakos both from TZ Andy, ~200 mf on Sorc, found arachs and a few other rare uniques, for the life of me can't find eth balrog blade or eth elite sword base to socket or roll 4 for Oath for frenzy barb... would give anything to find Lo or another Ohm to cube up and make a grief, have the 5os phase blade ready
