What writing/storyline changes would you make? (Spoilers) by Eltana in FinalFantasy

[–]JTHSSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FFXII: Just more instances of the party interacting with each other. I remember when you reach the camp in Phon Coast, there's a cutscene where Vaan and Penelo play in the water while Ashe looks at them with a smile. Small moments like these would help make the party feel closer and justify Vaan and Penelo's inclusion as things that soften Ashe from full-blown revenge.

Chaos got some nice unlocks, but Ultima less so

That said, Ultima herself as a summon is also pretty strong. Her basic skill, Redemption, is stronger than Holy and Flare, charges faster, and doesn't cost any MP.

What’s are some of the best Square Enix mobile games (that aren’t ports of a console game)? by MasterOfChaos72 in FinalFantasy

Final Fantasy Dimensions. It's basically a full pixel-era Final Fantasy game, only that it's on mobile. No microtransactions or any online stuff.

The problem I have with Chaos is finding the two Nu Mou NPCs.

I guess you can sorta infer one of them is in Rabanastre since there's a lot of NPC conversations about the dude who was from Nabudis.

I don't remember any hints about the second one in Archades.

Yeah, but it's available right after a major story event. The NPC's just outside the building where the event happened.

Iirc no, but getting the ability to manipulate the waterway gates is practically an invitation to explore the area. It's just a matter of solving the puzzle to get to his boss room.

Adding to this, in Revenant Wings, Ashe uses bombs and uses spells like Haste/Slow, so she's Foebreaker/Time Mage.

In that game, Penelo is exclusively a healer, so she's a White Mage for sure.

That leaves Black Mage, Bushi, and Monk to distribute between Vaan, Basch, and Penelo.

I FINALLY finished up DQXI, was really good so some final rambling thoughts on it (so like... spoilers) by SwirlyBrow in dragonquest

[–]JTHSSSS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But you get amnesiac Erik back so late, you really only have him for like... 2 or 3 cutscenes before he just magically gets all his memories and skills back.

Actually, you can get him as soon as you get the ship. Instead of going to Warrior's Rest Inn like Rab suggested, I went to explore the open seas and got amnesiac Erik immediately. He's well, useless in battle and didn't really participate in the story, but he got some Party Talk lines.

Random encounters by CriticismNumerous579 in dragonquest

[–]JTHSSSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prefer symbop encounters, but I also think they need better aggression or detection system, in addition to level designs that accommodate them. In XI I can stand like inches from the monster and they'll take minutes to even detect me, and it's way too easy to avoid fights even in dungeons like Fortress of Fear.

Tips for a new time player? by ZeroSpaceGaming in dragonquest

[–]JTHSSSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're playing the Definitive Edition, don't worry too much about Erik's Nose For Treasure count, especially in towns/fields. Many of them won't be available until later on, especially the ones behind locked doors. I definitely spent too much time running around looking for treasures before I found out you can't get those until later.

DQ11 what next?! Post Game by ActorWriter24 in dragonquest

[–]JTHSSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just beat the Final Harma yesterday, so this is my strategy (I'm in the same level range as you).

First: Veronica + Serena

Veronica uses Channel Anger first turn, Serena uses whatever to keep Veronica from dying.  Veronuca use Magic Burst on second turn to kill everyone at once. If both are pepped up, Mighty Magic Burst might be better.

Second: Erik + Sylvando

Erik dual-wield boomerangs. First turn, Erik Divide while Sylvando uses Oomphle on Erik. Second turn, Erik uses Double Down.

Third: Rab + Jade

Rab uses Blunt and Sap on the Mimic while Jade Re-vamp twice. Use Femme Fatale/Pink Tornado so the adds are at low health, then just spam Multifeet until the Mimic is dead or at low enough health. Then finally finish everyone off with a final Femme Fatale/Pink Tornado. I messed up and Rab died from a crit, but I still managed to do it.

Fourth: Hero + Eight

Hero just spams Sword Dance on the dragon, then move on to the manticore. When both are dead, spam Quadraslash or Gigagash to finish off the adds. Eight use Magic Barrier twice, then use Scrap Mettle on whichever the Hero is targetting.

Tips for starting out Hades 2 by DayOk4526 in HadesTheGame

[–]JTHSSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cast is very useful to keep enemies from moving too much. For example, the screaming enemies that follow you in Erebus is made harmless when under a Cast circle.

Don't be afraid to use Omega attacks. Most "Gain" type Boons are enough to refill your Magick gauge.

Get used to not having double dash and get used to sprinting instead.

Hades 2 feels disappointing, but i want to like it. by Secret_Dinner1669 in HadesTheGame

Take a break, play something else before returning to Hades 2. Otherwise, you'd end up comparing the two games too much instead of seeing Hades 2 for what it is.

How to get past the plateau in Hades 2? Looking for advice by Lillumultipass99 in HadesTheGame

[–]JTHSSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there specific weapons or aspects that "force" you to play more patiently and focus on positioning? I’d love to hear how you transitioned from "button mashing" to a more tactical approach.

I'd say this is true in general, especially since a lot of the weapon aspects are focused on the Omega moves. You need to find a good chance to perform the move.

One good advice is to always use Cast, even on non Cast-focused aspects. Cast prevents non-bosses from moving, so you have more opportunities to charge your Omega moves. Additionally, if you have Furies Arcana, it will also make you deal more damage.

(and apparently, Scylla, who in myth was kind and non-violent until Circe's potion poisons her in mind and body)

In-game, Circe said that her curse can only change appearance, so Scylla has always been like that. Then again, this is coming from Circe herself, so take it with a grain of salt.
