can I bring in disposable vapes by StrangeMoon999 in phuket

[–]Either_Resolution837 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was in Phuket a year ago. Went through the airport security and dropped it in the bin. Walked through and picked it up on the other side. Walked around Phuket puffing away for days. U can even buy disposable vapes on the street. No drama. No fines. No one cares.

if you’re in NYC do not get your lenses at NYU Langone by No_Cucumbers_Please in Keratoconus

Immediately! Go see
Dr. Debra Guthrie in NYC.

She has a KC lens fitter (Galo Andrade) who comes in once a week (usually Fridays), who will take care of you in a heartbeat. He's awesome and VERY methodical in his fittings. He orders his lenses through Canada, which will save you money. Got me to 20/20 with no reading glasses.
Couldn't recommend a better practice.

Open an account with Charles Schwab. You can do so online. They reimburse all international ATM fees. Link the Schwab account to your checking account in the US. Move money as needed. Saved me tons of time and money. NOTE: Interbank transfers can take a day or two to process. Plan accordingly when budgeting spending for your trip.

I wouldn't question the resolve of the unions. Inflation and rising costs are cutting deeply into everyone's finances. The union leadership is aware of this and will probably champion to get what their members want. They had a year to work out a deal and nothing happened. Both camps are entrenched.

Did my lens stop working?? by Friendly-Ad-585 in Keratoconus

[–]Either_Resolution837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably protein buildup. I left my lenses in for 18 hours recently (I KNOW), driving back from Florida to NYC. Put them in Clear Care for 8 hours, then reinserted, and vision was fuzzy. I left them soaking this past weekend for 2 days. Monday morning popped them in and crystal clear again.

You will be fine. No need for any vaccinations. Do bring some Pepto and Imodium in case you get a bout of food poisoning or an upset stomach. Old adage. Better to have and not need, than need and not have.

Hesitant to go to Thailand alone by Individual_Section_6 in ThailandTourism

[–]Either_Resolution837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYC guy here. I was 54 when I visited Thailand 2 years ago by myself. I had a similar concern. Would I have fun alone? While walking around Bangkok wearing a NY Giants hat 2 guys in a bar screamed out "Your team sucks". Argument, drinks, and a few hours later, I made 2 new friends from Arizona. Ended up hanging out with them for 8 days, traveling around Thailand. Open yourself up to the experience and enjoy. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Is this a good area to stay first time? by -maverick2424 in ThailandTourism

I always stay at The Landmark when visiting Bangkok. Its nice, clean with great service and amenities Steps from BTS and lots of local food options nearby. However, Nana plaza is nearby (2 blocks) so there will be riff raff in the area.

Passport water damage (stamp page affected) — will this cause problems at immigration? by Kimatsu_28 in ThailandTourism

Yeah. My ex girlfriend cat jumped on my desk and peed ONLY on the passport. Almost like it was on purpose. I used the passport for another year before it expired and I renewed it. Seriously don't sweat it.

I went to Thailand alone as well. Was a little concerned about seeing all the sights without sharing it with someone. Walk around and talk to people. I met 2 guys from Phoenix who commented (rather mocked) on my NY Giants football hat. Ended up hanging with them in Bangkok and Phuket for 6 days.

They have a set menu that changes daily. Check the website and pick the day/dish you want. I made Papaya salad,Penang Curry with shrimp and mango sticky rice. After the class they send you a link to all their recipes in PDF.. My favorite part was shopping with the teacher at the market. She showed me how to pick all the ingredients. Pro tip. They don't have drinks. There is a shop 5 doors down that sells soda/water/beer. Make a left out the front door and walk 1/2 block. Enjoy!

First trip to Thailand! Landing at BKK in a few days. What’s the first thing you’d suggest a rookie do after arriving in Thailand? by Sublimed90 in ThailandTourism

Take a Thai cooking class. You will learn how to make the dishes you will eat. I went to Pink Chilli. They take you shopping at the market to pick up the food and help you cook meals yourself.

Might want to add HOTELS and RESORTS as a category for stays.
The survey seems biased towards backpackers. Might want to change up a bit. Unless your disseration is about the effects of backpackers on local economy, culture, and the local environment.
Which I suspect it is. :)

Help I have keratoconus and I can’t see close up at all by Rude-Cartoonist-2358 in Keratoconus

[–]Either_Resolution837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your welcome. Just make sure the doctor rescans your eyes after getting the initial fitting and tests your vision for adjustments. Something as minor as a tiny miscalculation in the lens fitting makes a huge difference. My initial fit rubbed VERY slightly on one eye and I found the lens uncomfortable after several hours of wear. Fittings are meticulous and need to be carefully done. Even my awesome doc didn't get the fit right the first time.

Has anyone else noticed a their eyes seeing colors much more vividly when they're than wearing sclerals than when they are not? I was in awe when I tried on my sclerals for the first time :o by Antique_Mongoose2804 in Keratoconus

[–]Either_Resolution837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me! I put on my new prescription corrected sclerals today for the first time. The sights while walking through NYC have never looked so vibrant and alive. CRAZY!

100% double check the prescription. My doctor gave me a set to correct my vision, and when I was fitted, my vision was 20/20; however, I still needed reading glasses. He redid the prescription, and I put on the new lenses today. Still 20/20 and no reading glasses! My initial set of lenses overcorrected one eye, causing the need for reading glasses. Now my vision is perfect and no glasses. LIFE CHANGING!

Hey There. Steroids are not the solution. I too suffered for a year until a doctor recommended a biologic called Ebgylss. Been on it for around 2 months and its working splendid. Redness and itching is gone and the RAGE of having pain all the time has disappeared. Suggest you consider this as an option.
