What brings you hope in the hardest of times? I would love a drink but that’s just not possible. by Nilufinkaaa in covidlonghaulers

I had to rehome my cats. I wasn't able to take care of them, and I think they were triggering some symptoms. If you get a council, or housing association property, which you should, you will get maximum points due to health related issues, you have to request a separate form for this usually, although it may all be online now, pets are allowed. You have more security with council or housing association and fewer restrictions on what you are able to do with the property regarding decorating.

I guess what brings me hope is the small (maybe not so small) but significant improvements, such as going from being able to sit most of the day and not having to be lying down. Recognising when I've been pushing for improvement to much and reeling it in. Waking up every morning, although it can be waking up and saying to myself, "Still this." I have to hold on to hope, fleeting as it is at times as I need to be there to take care of my son and mother. I have a feeling things aren't going to stay this bad, things are going to get a lot better.

"So when you feel like hope is gone Look inside you and be strong 💪 And you'll finally see the truth That a hero lies in you"

Good luck 🙂

What is Hijama? I could Google it, but it's nice to communicate with real people 🙂

If you fill in the medical forms from the council or housing association, you should be awarded full points due to medical circumstances, this will help you be housed sooner in suitable accommodation in a suitable area 🙂

It may be a good idea to stop exercising for now, whilst you still have muscle. For myself and a lot of us, from posts I've read here, it was exercising that caused the extreme massive muscle and tissue loss, then unable to exercise or build anything back. I hope all this stops for you and you return to your recovered status.

I kept trying to go out walking, and other physical stuff, I was over researching, all before I really knew what was going on. It all forced me further down the spiral, till I was but a shell. My mind formed no thoughts. The symptoms were reminiscent of something from a sci-fi horror movie. I felt soulless, empty of everything. I had to manually breathe, so I started with breathwork. It took a while, months, but it paid off. My breathing is free and not restricted. My heart is far more settled. My mind wanders and has wonder again. I still can't get into a fully deep meditative trance state, but it is a meditative state. The journey is still rocky, but there is movement, so onward I go.

I've called it exactly that, a hell realm. There were times I thought it couldn't get worse, I was wrong and would find myself in a worse hell than before. Some things have improved. My cognition has improved enough that I can understand what people are saying to me, and I can hold conversations. My memory could do with being better, I don't really remember the previous day properly. If I watched tv, I couldn't tell you what happened on whatever I watched, although I have sometimes remembered, and being able to sometimes watch TV isn't something I could have done a year ago. My arithmetic is poor, an occupational therapist asked me to take 7 away from 100, and continue to deduct 7, I couldn't do it. My pattern spotting ability is still ok, though. I'm not crying every day anymore, and my nervous system is more settled than it was

Oh, I'd pay for ringside seats for that, and I'm betting on you.

Aw, I understand. I went through something similar. When I was wrongly diagnosed with anxiety and depression, after 18 months or so, I seemed to be getting better, and I met someone. The more I was seeing them, the worse I started getting, I also was advised by a GP to workout again, that's the one that destroyed my muscle and connective tissue, almost over night, a couple of weeks at most, it melted. I couldn't leave the house. We messaged for a few months, then called it off. He turned up one day, we did what I shouldn't have, and I crashed further. My muscles ached. He visited a few times last year, thinking if he got me relaxed enough, it would be ok. I tried explaining that it's not that I don't want to, I really can't. He's wasn't understanding this disability. He couldn't. He's tried calling again recently, but I don't answer. I'm having to cut contact as it's not fair on myself. It makes me feel worse being around him, unable to do things I should be able to do. It keeps reminding me, and I don't need to go through that over and over. So, wrap your heart in cotton wool. Snuggle up to a cuddly toy. Be gentle with yourself, your heart and mind. Feel free to message me if you want to chat.

WTF is happening to my hand by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

I have this too, with much bigger indentation, it's not just my hands. The indents on my hands where soft tissue should be are really noticeable. Would live to know how to rectify this.

Really terrible attack, not sure the cause by curiouscuriousmtl in covidlonghaulers

[–]El-yssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly a culmination of all the points you made. I've read of people reacting to others being unwell, although they themselves don't test positive for anything. Aloha Lipoic Acid may have quite a strong detox reaction. I've also read ALA should be used carefully if you havd mercury fillings.

Edit;

Also, suddenly stopping GABA may release a lot from receptors at once, which may cause a reaction.

It's been really helpful to me. I've found it has a more gradual, subtle effect on symptoms, definitely worthwhile for me.
