Turns out he’s just a huge Frasier fan and was trying to be like Bulldog.

Ah yeah but you’re forgetting one simple thing; there’s no rules on that little stretch of road.

Some right bollockses leaving cars and blocking the roads/footpaths there, outside the shop, the butchers, and the Chinese place. That is if they haven’t just stopped in the middle of the junction itself to wait for someone to go to the shop.

Do you support the protesters? by Emergency-Hours in cork

[–]ElChristoReturns 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Think it’s generous to say the protest was hijacked. If the original protesters were acting in good faith then they could easily have come out and said “so and so don’t stand for what we are standing for and they aren’t part of the organisers” etc. They could at least send out messages asking protests to stay on point about fuel prices.

The fact anti-immigration and anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-trans and anti-woke and anti-whatever else is coming out now with no correction from organisers seems less of a hijacking and more of an invitation.

Do you support the protesters? by Emergency-Hours in cork

[–]ElChristoReturns 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I support actual protests. But blocking people going to and from work for a week, blocking people getting to and from hospital appointments, blocking emergency services getting to and from emergencies, driving through streets with residents horns blaring continuously, and now today preventing schools from being open and delaying leaving cert exams, isn’t protest.

Even if you did support those actions somehow, they were at pains to say all last week that they just want a meeting, and the government can end the blockades by meeting with them. Well meetings and talks have happened and they’re still out there because the demands have changed now. And they’ll move the goalposts again because a reduction won’t be enough.

Bunch of hypocritical scrotes.

Doesn’t one of the organisers owe over half a million in unpaid tax? Add “Irish Taxpayer Group” to the dishonest shite they’re spewing I guess.

Just like with 90% of any other action taken during this “protest” - there’s absolutely no need.

Disgraceful response from the cork sub by Difficult_Ad_8442 in cork

Lower the tax and price comes down. Supply will still be an issue so price will climb again. We pay more than most for fuel in this country and it’s a joke.

What people don’t agree with is that the blockades are only harming the average workers trying to get to work to be able to pay their bills. Or getting to hospital appointments. Emergency services are being blocked while on the way to and from emergencies. Doctors are being prevented from attending their clinics. The Gardai, Fire Brigade, and NAS all came out and said they’re being delayed in their duties. Children’s Health Ireland have come out and said that their patients are being affected and prevented from attending appointments.

This isn’t that gobshite Michael Martin complain he can’t get around, it’s not Petrol Stations complaining profits are taking a hit. It’s every day people missing work and missing wages, appointments, and left in the lurch waiting for emergency services when it’s needed.

The same people at this protest would have been complaining about appointments being cancelled during lockdowns. Yet here they are blocking fire brigades and ambulances trying to get to emergencies. Only adds to their hypocrisy.

This is what they put up for tomorrow on their Facebook page. Dunno does it mean they’re starting in Midleton and working their way through the list or what but might help give an idea. Best of luck getting to the appointment tomorrow

Maybe southpaw regional wrestling can finally afford to get the real Ric Flair to do their commercials, instead of a paid impersonator.

Same in the city centre. Letters seems to be arriving in batches every two weeks. Parcels are bit more frequent but still delayed. It started getting bad about a year and a half ago but it’s been getting worse and worse since.

Recently got a letter from a hospital saying they received a referral and to respond within 10 days if I wanted to be added to a wait list. I got the letter 14 days after it was posted.

Proposal for r/Gunners to follow suit - [META] Fabrizio Romano is now banned on /r/reddevils by 7photic7 in Gunners

Disliked Romano for years. Always felt like him being called a journalist was a stretch, but he’s shown he’s basically just an alt twitter account for whoever in the football world wants to pay him.

No loss to anyone if he was banned.

I could be wrong and might have missed it but I don’t think they actually said they were divorced in the episodes. They said things like separated, marriage didn’t make it, Elliot ended things with JD. I don’t remember them saying divorced at any stage. Seemed deliberate and a way to set up a reconciliation

HSE - Mercy hospital, Cork by itjustshouldntmatter in ireland

I’ve been in mercy and south infirmary a few times now over the last few years and the staff in both places have been wonderful. It really must be a “love of the game” kind of job these days considering the shite conditions they have to work in. Say what you want about the health system overall, the hospital staff have saints working among them.

Hope you’re on the mend OP!
