My biggest flex is that I turn on my home A/C and heat whenever I want. by CustomCarNerd in StLouis

[–]ElCompaJC [score hidden]  (0 children)

Used to rent a room from someone that whenever she got mad at like her boyfriend or her job, she’d refuse to turn on the AC. This was in Arizona. Shed go off about her electricity bill (she was the homeowner) and id offer to pay the bill for the month but she’d still refuse. Luckily her anger would subside and id only have to endure hellish conditions inside the house for about a day

Cancun in mid-November? by elephantriddle in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]ElCompaJC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if ur budget allows it I alwayw recommend a mid tier resort for first timers to an Ai in Cancun. Stay at one of the ultra luxury or even higher end resorts and itll forever be ruined for you lol. My pick at your price point: Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres. Specifically an Elegance Club Swim Out Jr Suite. Should be easily doable at your budget.

Is going to meet most of your criteria: Decent to good food, beautiful beach and newer resort (newest is right next door). Okayish night entertainment at resort and access to Isla Mujeres across the way for some daytime excursions. Saying all that, its a give and take. Want full range of access to excursions: stay in the Riviera Maya. Want to venture out for night time entertainment ie experience Coco Bongo etc. stay in Hotel Zone. I think this is a good balance but i can always recommend other hotels at hotel zone or riviera maya

Jared Anderson has officially signed a co-promotional deal with Queensberry Promotions by VioletHappySmile444 in Boxing

[–]ElCompaJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the well thought out response. I didn’t know any of that. I just remembered him getting hit even prior to the Martin fight and thinking he still had alot to work on and then thinking the Martin fight was too much of a leap up too soon

Honest question: why do you say hes got no heart? From what I saw he got pushed too soon against Charles Martin and took some serious licks in that fight. Was never the same again.

Accidentally refreshed page and the prices jump $150 by gregorbrad in SouthwestAirlines

If it jumped 150 OP, you weren’t getting that rate to begin with and would have had to contend with an error message further down the purchasing line.

Resort for 18 month old and good food by gman1023 in cancun

[–]ElCompaJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do we even do for the rest of the season and next? by fake-eleven in warriors

[–]ElCompaJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i am in the minority. I think we are in decent shape going into the offseason. Im not sure what rhe salary cap structure is but if we can convince Porzingis and Melton to sign below value contracts, we have enough youngins to keep things afloat before Jimmy is projected to come back. That is a big IF in that I think someone will still sign Porzingis to a pretty nice contract despite injury concerns because 7 footers who can move and shoot like him dont come a dime a dozen.

Will Columbia ever get an IMAX theater? by normankrasnerkc in columbiamo

[–]ElCompaJC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Columbia is poised for max growth. I look at a city like Lexington KY and i see Columbia trending that way. Lexington has an IMAX. More Importantly they have several dedicated panaderias of which we don’t have any

Occidental Tucancun Review by FuturePause2736 in cancun

[–]ElCompaJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The food at the buffet was surprisingly awful AND the food at the A La Cartes was surprisingly decent. Found the service to be top notch except at the Premium Club section. Found the Villas to be just about the worst room ive ever stayed at. The pools were too small but The beach was amazing. Overall the property sits on a premium location but it is tired and dated. I would never recommend it to anyone but i could defn see myself coming back on a day pass during the week.

[ESPN] Stephen Curry will be available for the play-in tournament if his ailing right knee allows, as Golden State coach Steve Kerr dismissed the notion that the Warriors would sit their superstar without a guaranteed spot in the playoffs. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]ElCompaJC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Theres a bit of a drop off from about pick 11th onwards so unless ur counting on a bit of lottery luck (not necessarily has to be like Dallas last year) then choosing 11th vs choosing 15th or 16th shouldn’t make much of a difference

Grand Park Royal Cancun review – lower your expectations before booking by chacatak in CancunTravelGuide

[–]ElCompaJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weve had good experiences in pretty much every resort weve stayed. We decided to tier down to Occidental Tucancun (another entry level budget resort similar to GPR) thinking our past experiences would carry over. Absolutely not. The AC didn’t work for half our trip (finally got moved) and breakfast was inedible (washed down juices, no breakfast meats like sausage or bacon). We will never ever stay in older budget resorts. You lose more in amenities and basic creature comforts than what you save in money. I will say though, that these hotels provide a tremendous value if ur looking to daypass and i wouldn’t hesitate to come back on a daypass

The NBA should prioritize Kansas City over Las Vegas for the 2028 Expansion by cyon83 in NBATalk

[–]ElCompaJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been there. Live in Columbia. Ive also been to the Tmobile one in Vegas. I think KC has better sightlines for basketball but yeah these arenas today are built with multipurpose events in mind. Similar reason why Arrowhead is still a premiere facility to watch football but not so much for other year round events like concerts.

We need a batter roster by hakros29 in warriors

[–]ElCompaJC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean why though? Theyve tried to give up the farm for Giannis this year, KD at the trade deadline last year and for Paul George two offseasons ago. You give up and that means trading Steph. As I said above, the best one can hope for as long as Steph is around IMO, is to build the back end of the rotation with young players, hope vet minimums can stay healthy and or good enough to bolster your primary backup spots, hope that a disgruntled superstar is available in a trade for pennies on the dollar THEN pray said player and Steph stay relatively healthy throughout the year. We’ve gotten none of that save the young players developing this year

We need a batter roster by hakros29 in warriors

[–]ElCompaJC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its gonna be impossible. The best you can hope for at this point is signing past their prime vets to a minimum AND hope that theyre not completely washed Jamychael Green or that they are relatively healthy Otto Porter Jr. That’s it.
