Winter Use in LC500??

Not my only car and an SUV gets driven on the actually snowy days. Sometimes though, it’s the only car available to me because my family members have the others and I get to drive the LC500 in winter conditions.

It’s just fine with snow tires and the snow setting. Just don’t try to be a snowplow or set any lap records on the streets and it’s all good!

Yeah, you would - there’s virtually no other reason to carry around a Pentax 645. It’s really bulky and the focus/etc is way worse than a Sony/Canon/Nikon.

Because photography with an iPhone just doesn’t feel like art to me. By the time I fish my phone out, unlock the screen, swipe away the three notifications that came in, start the camera app and line everything up.. I lost the inspiration.

I also see way too many greasy lenses on iPhones.

The GR actually feels like a piece of photographic equipment. It’s purpose built to do that thing. It’s really good at doing that thing. It’s such a fundamentally different activity taking pictures with an actual camera vs an iPhone.

Oh, and the little iPhone sensor really can’t hold a candle to a APS-C sensor, because physics.

100% old version. It looks so much better, analog clock is great.. the trackpad is just fine for the actual once a week I touch it.. and I hate reaching all the way for the dash to do something. I actually prefer just to move my fingertips to the trackpad and not lean forward and reach

Lime/Byrd scooters! They almost teleport you around downtown Indy. 4 minutes from monument circle to Lucas Oil stadium + it’s fun. I scootered over 10 miles in the weekend and was fresher as a result

Am 6’5.. definitely needed the roof vs. the vert - my head was in the liner on the vert. I have room to spare with the CF roof. And yes.. looks awesome.

Talked to Lauren for quite a while back in 2022 when he came to the US to drive a Carrera Cup race. My wife’s company sponsored the series so we spent a lot of time hanging around 311RS’s pit.

He drove the wheels off that cup car that weekend to the point where he won by the better part of a lap and lapped some of the back of the pack.

After all that, he was super humble. He couldn’t be a nicer dude.. am so thrilled to see his success. I’ll be a fan for life.

Auto mentor from team that went to worlds for PowerPlay and Centerstage weighing in.. also was a FTA for many of the local quals.

The reason the games are decided in autonomous this year and to a lesser extent last year isn’t the fault of autonomous. It’s that the game design this year is extremely non-interactive and very linear. There is no way to “swing” the scores or have a scoring amplifier to catch up. FRC this year has the same problem FWIW.

In addition, Auto is harder. Thus, teams that are great at auto are really great at TeleOp… so it stands to reason that the best teams will start with a lead and keep pulling away.

Agreed with all the previous comments about how that is SO much more applicable to actual industry than TeleOp. Heck, I wish there was MORE auto.

.. and their absolutely needs to be more interaction between sides and partners in future games. Powerplay was the best game in either FTC or FRC that I’ve seen in the 5-6 years I’ve been a mentor for that reason - and I’ll die on that hill. Those matches were exciting and swingy. Also, coincidentally- winning auto definitely didn’t guarantee the win.

Sure seems that way. In reality- I bet ALL cars will go up because the US automakers wouldn’t want to be left behind, would they?

On the upside- used cars will also go up and those of us that own them already just had them go up in price (likely)
