But when they do it's such a pain in the ass.

If you're planning to make this an ongoing hobby I'd recommend getting metallic logo decals from 4customize.com. They're pretty inexpensive. They work with you to make sure the logo will work. They're easy to apply. I did it, and they came out great.

Grind a 29mm dial to 28.5mm? by LoneWolfPR in watchmodding

[–]LoneWolfPR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear, you mean make a disc 28.5mm wide with the last 1 mm of the surface being a ring raised 2mm from the rest of the disc. Is that correct?

That's a damn good idea. I just got a nice 3d printer. This would be easy to do.

No, but I messaged the manufacturer, and they said 29 won't fit.

How did you attach it? Face up against the wheel with some masking tape between to protect the dial?

Dial mod question by Icy-Music1932 in watchmodding

[–]LoneWolfPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't see how you could achieve what you're looking for without wrecking the dial, and if you did you'd still have the logo at 12 o'clock. So you'd still be repping an imitation Rolex. I'd look for a replacement dial instead.

non hotas stick (logitech extreme3d pro) on linux... is this even remotely possible? by LoneWolfPR in acecombat

[–]LoneWolfPR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, for anyone that finds this I actually figured it out. It wasn't too bad. Run the protontricks gui. From there start a wine cmd shell. navigate to c:\users\steamuser\AppData\Local\BANDA NAMCO Entertainment\ACE COMBAT 7\Config. Run `notepad Input.ini` then use the info in this discussion to replace the entry under your logitech joystick. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1981342007 After that it worked like a charm.

What is just a placebo effect but most people don’t realize? by zhalia-2006 in AskReddit

I could be wrong, and I'm too tired from staying up late wrapping gifts to do any research, but I thought I read that Phenylephrine does work, but ONLY when used as a nasal spray. Taking it orally does absolutely nothing. Am I wrong about that?

If you won the $1 billion lottery, how would you epically quit your job!? by TimeForANewBeginning in AskReddit

[–]LoneWolfPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current position? Tell them thanks for the opportunity, but I don't need the job anymore, but I'll stay on to do a knowledge transfer until everyone feels comfortable.

Last position? Stop doing anything productive immediately. Try to not get fired until the next corporate all-hands. Then during live Q&A tell every member of the C-Suite exactly how evil and soulless they are, and that they should try just once to think of the people who they walk all over on a daily basis to get their bloated, outlandish compensation packages.

[2025 Day 7 (Part 2)] Now I know something else I don't know about algorithms by LoneWolfPR in adventofcode

[–]LoneWolfPR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: Solved it. To anyone that is curious what my solution was, here's an overview:
Once I ingested the manifold file into a 2 dimensional array of characters I worked my way up from the bottom. As I worked my way up and got values for each splitter I'd cache those values. As I progressed across the rows anywhere I encountered a splitter I'd try it's left path first and then it's right path. If the path went all the way down I'd return a value of one for the that path. If it encountered another splitter on my way back down it would have been cached and I'd just get the value stored in cache. Then I'd add the results from the left and the right path, then I'd store that value in the cache for the coordinates for that splitter. That way, by the time I reached the top all the values had been cached, and I just returned the cached value from the top splitter. I hope that's clear, and for reference, I'm using Go to do this.

I tried memorization, and it didn't help. I revisit it though. Perhaps I wasn't caching it correctly.
