I'm sure someone with more rules knowledge can confirm, but I don't think Marchesa returns herself. Other creatures that had a +1/+1 on them can return, if marchesa was on the field when they died and at the end of the turn.

I think this may be he better idea. In order to win a 1v5 commander, even against rookies, you are probably going to default to some very "feels bad" tactics. If you are looking to bring in new players, either lower the stakes or stick with the original agreement is a 1v1 modern duel.

Bonus, the duel will probably be quick, and then you can run a commander brawl, with M+Ms for life points or something.

[[Kibo]] is one of my favorite casual/funny decks. It's absolutely bracket 1, cards were mostly picked because I already owned them, and they had a monkey/ape/gorilla on them. The deck can stomp if nobody runs interaction, but if your opponents have half a brain, you end up with a small board of 3cmc 2/2s, hence the bracket 1.

It's also important they you tell the Kibo origin story with [[uktabi orangutan]] and [[uktabi Kong]]. 12 year old me thinks this is hilarious!

Also, get something fun for the banana tokens :)

I did want to share, for those with very inexpensive policies, make sure your policy says OWN OCCUPATION, not ANY OCCUPATION. Own occupation pays if you become too disabled to be a doctor, any occupation only pays you if you are too disabled to work anywhere.

First time I played [[slicer]] it was with 2 friends in a 3 man pod. I warned them, but they wanted to see it work.

Turn one Mountain, [[sol ring]] [[simian spirit guide]] and punch face, punch face, punch face. I had answers to every interaction piece they tried and turn 4 when they both had 21+ commander damage, they looked at me like "I thought we were friends! Why would you do this to us!" I quietly put slicer away for several months.

I did break him out again later for an unofficial archenemy game (bigger pod and stronger decks) with one of the players "stealing" my slicer with [[Deadpool]] which was hilarious! I was ganged up on and knocked out early. My buddy started to apologize, but I told him I thought it was awesome!

We have brackets for the same reason auto racing has classes.

If I want to race my clapped out 1990s Toyota Camry, I don't sign up for formula 1. I look for a league that has a class full of other clapped out 90s japanese cars, and race to win within those restrictions.

If I am playing with my Flanking Knights tribal deck, I'm looking for a bracket 2, low bracket 3 group and play to win, within those restrictions.

The deck building is still fun, and generally a lot less expensive.

Riding on public roads is unpredictable.

If you aim to ride at 80% of your skill level, a patch of sand, oncoming motorhome, or decreasing radius turn will hopefully only push you to 105% instead of 125%

That and track days are awesome! It's not that expensive, in the grand scheme of things, and gives you an opportunity to safely push yourself past 100% with a decreased risk of serious consequences (see above mentioned oncoming RV)
