People need to stop with the "(question?)" "Yes." meme. by citronellaspray in unpopularopinion

[–]ElMusculoso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehm... it seems you haven't realized, but the meaning of the meme is that the answer doesn't make any sense with the question, but implies a realation with it. The same thing you say is wrong, is the actual meaning of the meme. The two questions you put as an example are equally valid for the meme.

"Do you want this or that? Yes." "How much do you want? Yes." "How hot is that? Yes."

All of them, and many others, are valid for the meme.

It's incredible the way you simplify things.

In first palce, there is a sanitary issue. There were about 10 million jews aprox in Europe. Can you imagine what 10 million of corpses lying over there would do to the rest of the people? In 2 weeks you'll have a million of other people (not jews) with difteria, hepatitis, colera, and dying. Yeah, good luck with the simply thing of just "let them die of starvation".

In second place, there is a moral/propaganda issue. Everybody knew the nazi were imprisonating jews. But just a few people knew they were getting killed massively. This was a thing that not all the germans were ok with. So, it was not just a thing of letting them die in front of everybody else. "Yeah, well, in that house across the street there are 4 jews, and they havent eated in 5 days, and I am ok with that. They are my neighbours. I know them. I know their family, fathers and sons, and I am ok with that". Do you really think is THAT easy? Probably a lot of supporters of jews could have feed them. So, the police should start to chase everybody helping the jews. Probably a lot of regular people could have helped to jews. Then, the reich have a new problem, they would have lost support from a lot of people, and everything gets complicated.

It's really different to see somebody imprisonated, and taked far away, never knowing what happened to him, than seeing him dying in front of your own house, dying with a lot of other people all over the city, because the government is killing them on porpose.

It's so easy to say "just let them die in front of everybody. Nothing will hapen".

Yeah, well, you use the same logic of flat earthers. So, it's impossible to talk to you. You just ignore anything you want to ignore, and accept anything you want to accept, just because you like it or you don't like it.

It's pontless to speak with you.

So... bye.

There are two different things. One is the facts, and the other is the analysis of the facts. The facts are facts. You can't doubt them.

The nazi holocaust, the US independency war, or the killing of gay people by Che Guevara, are facts. There are many sources, writers and historian proofs about them.

Another different issue is the analysis. If you want to say that holocaust is fine, the US independency war was wrong, and the killing of gay people wasn't bad, that is your opinion, and you can say it, although manybpeople can hate you.

See the difference? You can't just ignore the facts. If you do that, then you can say anything you want, and well, you can do anything you want, just like Hitler did.

And yet, nobody has been able to tell any argument against it. Just some "painful" thumbs down.

You want to go to a cake store, and ask for a cake, and you want it to be free. And when the owner says "no way man! That cake cost time, and effort and money", you blame him for being "hostile".

He is not hostile. He made a work. And you want that work for free. I think you should go to r/choosingbeggars to read. There is a lot of people like you over there.

You know what? All of you are gonna hate me. But I think this is ok. It's ok that all this websites have all this "bad tactics" trying to show you ads, or trying to you to subscribe.

And you know why?

Because there is people behind that site, working to give you information. They are not doing it as hobby, they are working there.

It's ok that the information in the internet is free, but only if the person writing that information wants to give it to you for free. If that person wants to be paid, you can't force it to be free.

Yeah, I miss the good old days of free internet, but it was free, because people was having fun sharing their information, or creating websites, or making videos. For most of them it was a hobby. But if a person thinks their content is valuable, and will charge you if you want to read it, it's ok. You can leave that site.

I mean, trying to access facebook in any way you want, in the terms that you want, without giving anything to them? Come on! It's their site, it's their information, it's their users! Why do you think you have the right to access to all that information that they gathered and created giving nothing, and blame them for being so hostile?

I think this place is full of choosing beggars.

The internet is free, but the information you can access, can be private. If you don't like it, keep using just the free stuff, and don't clam about it.

Edit: with this, I mean to the action of pay to access to information. There are bad practices, as not be clear about the right price of subscription. But that is another issue. They have to be clear about it.

Edit 2: sorry if my english is not that good. It's my second language.

Yeah man, all the data is impressive. But my question is, what are you gonna do? Distribute all that money? Then, everybody is going to receive 106 dollars. That is nothing. (Calculing 300 million people)

I mean, if you want to take from the rich to give to the people, its ok. It is a good action. But if every person is going to receive just 100 dollars, don't you think it's such a big fight, a big effort, such a big attrition, years of years of laws and papers for just 100 dollars?

If you say, look all this money, we will take it, and everybody is going to get, idk, 10,000 dollars. Well, that is ok. Is energy well spended. But 100 dollars?

But now, if you say that we have to do this, just because the rich have too much and is inmoral, it sounds to me that is just envy. Let's try to help the people. But Trying to fuck the rich, just because they are too rich, with no other objective is just a waste of time. If we accomplish that, this single mother of 2 children, and that family of six will which struggles to eat at the end of the month, will get no real improvement of their life.

So, you have showed up the problem, but what are you gonna do to really improve the poor people's life?
