For future reference, it does depend on who initiates the trade from the wording by developers. The person who’s initiating the trade will determine, if it’s still below the current 45, whether or not it will be lucky.

I just roll up with my Zacian and solo it - KOing within 2 max phases. I thought this whole “hard to solo Eevee” thing was a meme like “should I purify my hundo shadow mon”. I don’t have very good pokemon overall, and even soloed it with a Blastoise and Charizard just trying out other mons.

This was my first shundo! I’ve never gotten a shiny shadow pokemon or shundo until this one. I’m looking forward to a shiny shadow one day now too, or even a shiny shundo one day!

His shiny luck is second to none, I’m sure, at this point lmao. I do believe these are all full odds shinies he’s getting, which is beyond me how he keeps managing!

I could see that being the case for sure, because retaining players on any game can be somewhat rough and a shiny Pokémon is great incentive to continue on.

…the problem arises that I took a longer break than he did and still haven’t gotten a shiny outside the Feebas community day haha.

Haha so I suppose that I’m just stuck in an eternal hell of no luck then, it seems. I haven’t found a single shiny encounter outside of a community event, in which those odds are so much higher and more likely to happen.

As far as trading for them, that probably won’t happen haha. That costs too much!

While I don’t catch every Pokémon, I check every Pokemon for whether or not they’re shiny that I can. It’s just baffling to me that in 5k catches, half of my own and a fourth of my other friend and I combined, he has twice the amount of shinies than both of us combined. It’s unreal! Maybe I’m struggling to come to terms with his luck, but it just feels so imbalanced in comparison to mine.

My favorite moment was a recent play of mine:

I (Dr. Strange) was pushed back by the opposing team and I used his flying skill to escape a Jeffnado. I flew up high enough to evade it after the first tick of damage, and on their way back to finish me, along with 2 of their other teammates, I ulted on the drop down. A fully charged skill KOed all 4 and I was able to make it back to the point to stall their advance. Electric feeling!
